I too used Chantix to quit 67 days ago and I am FREE! Took me three times but the meds really did it for me. I would follow the directions: don't quit too soon before the Chantix is really working. It was day 12 for me and I never looked back. Watch for the side effects (weird dreams, thristy, etc) but they are way better than smoking. I am starting to taper my Chantix to one a day, then every other day then none. There is alot of stuff on Chantix on this site so just do a search. You will feel great when you quit! Happy Birthday Starfish! I've been thinking about you and hoping you would start the Chantix today. That is great! Just to give you some encouragement, I am now starting day five as a non-smoker and I AM NOT CRAVING. I really feel like this time I can be a non smoker forever. The Chantix has been a huge help. One other thing that has sunk in for me that might help you too, after you quit - when I thought I was having "cravings" in the first few days, I was really hungry. Eating something, anything but especially something like a granola bar, a glass of juice, fruit - would get me feeling much better in 15-20 minutes. Did some reading about the havoc that nicotine plays on your blood sugar and this now makes sense to me. Best of luck to you. You can do it. Margo :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 100 Amount Saved: $25.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 58 Seconds: 20
