I'm kinda with you, stickin. This is it for me. The fact that I haven't wanted a cigarette past day 3 during hell week I think is kinda telling me something. I don't need that crap anymore. I'm done. There may be other hard days, but there's no way I'm going through this again. Stickin, I'm aiming for your stats and better!!!! :-) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 150 Amount Saved: $40.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 26 Seconds: 0

Good Evening! Come all everyone let's get this done. This stopping and starting stuff is for the birds. You quit for awhile, smoke and quit again. I'm sure quitting for a time is better than continuing to smoke; however wouldn't you rather be spending your time and efforts on more exciting things? I want to share with you something my father would say when a situation looked bleak as in the case of looking for a parking space in a crowed mall parking garage, "all you need is one". Simple enough I know, logical and a positive thought. Apply this philosophy to other events such as One final quit! Hey Nilbey, This quit is so different for me. For me the key was wanting to quit more than I wanted to smoke. And realizing that if I can go one day without a cig then I could quit. One minute, one hr, one day at a time whatever works for you. You can do it and we can help you!~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 55 Amount Saved: $58.30 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 1 Seconds: 28

Good morning, I'm back to quit again too. This time has been easier, but the big hurdles are still to come. Every time I think I'm ready for them, ("emotional torpedos" - like that one), I end up "internalizing" my feelings via cigarettes. It's an old pattern of behavior on my part and I'm striving to get past that one. Thanks for posting your thoughts and feelings here, you are inspiring and encouraging many of us. Good luck with your Quit - who knows, maybe you'll be back in a couple of years to give advice and support on "My Final Quit." Go for it! Cigarettes Not Smoked

I've lost count of how many times I've tried to quit, one time I made it for 6 Months, one time I made it to 1 3/4 years. This time, I know I'm done. Learning is the key, everytime that crave/trigger comes up, pause and ask yourself why? Think about, then tell yourself I'm not going to smoke today and move on, don't dwell on the craving though! Acknowledge it and move on. Dwelling on it is a bad thing. Nibey Yes Nibey, this time is very different for me as well. Prior to coming to this site, I never admitted I was an addict. As addicts, we have welcomed nicotine into our lives and become obsessed with its effects on our physiology. In short, we like the whack, jingle and jangle we get from those little joy sticks. That is the physical side of addiction. For many people, me included, that is not the most difficult part to overcome. The other half of this is the psychological dependency that has made a mockery of our claims to independence, courage and strength. I am a self-confessed self medicator. I have dealt with inbound emotional shrapenel by toking up one more cig and living in that nicotine dream. I did this for many years and now for the very first time I am shining a light on my addiction. Don't be afraid, be serious. Read all that you are able to discover concerning this addiction. Understand your relationship to it and do something about it. The seeds of victory are found in the knowing of the enemy. Study why, when and where you smoke. You are so young and you have so far to go, it would be a shame if you forced yourself to carry this burden along with you. Put it down now and your days ahead will so much sweeter... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 160 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,800 Amount Saved: $1,120.00 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 5 Mins: 23 Seconds: 14

Hey Nibey, Trying to quit 3 times is nothing, I've been trying to quit the last 25 years, Every New Years Day, I wouldn't make it past the first week, Itwas only that when I joined this Stop Smoking Center, that everything turned around for me, I never had the Support and Encouragement until I came here to this website, and when People around the world were saying, ''Come On John, You Can Do It,'' people from England, Italy, France, Austrailia, Canada, I couldn't tell these good people No, I can't do it, Just stay close to this website, make it Your home away from home, They say that Knowledge is King, You want to Quit, It happens here, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1546 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 46,380 Amount Saved: $6,616.88 Life Gained: Days: 361 Hrs: 11 Mins: 30 Seconds: 33

Hey Nibey, That saying "Knowledge is Power" really does come true when quitting smoking. The more you read, learn, acknowledge and understand about nicotine and how is has addicted you, the more power you have to overcome it. PLain and simple! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,225 Amount Saved: $938.95 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 21 Mins: 49 Seconds: 51
