People are really going for this repeat post reinforcement technique I notice. It's good. Should get the message home. No, Toxinfree1, you're definitely not alone. The last two days or so I've had more urges than the previous six. Seems weird to me! It's surprised me and has been kind of tough at times. But I know what I want and I have my convictions about no longer smoking. There is absolutely no conceivable reason to ever give in to any thought, urge or craving. And many, many reasons to never allow a cigarette to touch my lips again! Toxin, As you can see you're not alone. This will pass as you get more comfortable in your quit and find new passions to fill your life. Keep persevering and congrats on 1 week! Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Toxin- The book I am reading is quit and stay quit by terry a. rustin. Its really good because it reinforces why you stopped smoking in the first place, meaning it focuses on a bunch of different reasons why you shouldn't smoke. Like I said before, I didn't really want to quit but it says how nobody really wants to and its things like health, spouse, etc is why people end up dropping the habit. Yeah, I miss smoking too but you have to do a kind of reversal thing with it, as suggested by others here. When I get that flash of desire I just stop what I'm doing (maybe it was a trigger) and actually think about smoking a cigarette and how really horrible it would taste and what my mouth would feel like after - not to mention the lightheadedness and the lingering stink on my hands. Then I decide not to consider it any more and carry on - or eat something instead..... Hi toxfree, What do you miss the most? The smell? The stains on your hands and teeth or the change to get a deadly desease? Look at the bright side, you're a non smoker, that is good!!
