Toxin-
I am reading a quit smoking book and it states that you do lose a friend when you stop smoking. here is why-smoking, the friend, is always there whether your sad, happy, mad, angry, etc. Cigarettes never let you down, always the same, and always give you the same feeling. Please don't let this discourage you, but I haven't smoked a cigarette in 6.5 weeks and still miss smoking. But, I am an addict, I didn't really want to quit because I never had any health problems etc. But, I did it with my partner who had three wisdom teeth cut out and couldn't smoke so we decided to just stop. I'm 28 and smoked since I was 14 , exactly half of my life, and I feel like I lost my bestfriend, like they died or something. I have been on wellbutrin for 2 weeks because like you I miss them. I started crying all the time and still do out of nowhere. But, my counselor says it will get better in time. Cigarettes mask ALOT of emotions and feelings that I didn't even know were there. So, if you continue to miss them, don't give in because it won't do anything except bring you back to day 1 and all the withdrawl symptoms. And remember you'll eventually have to quit again.
