HI Toxinfree1, Your feeling that something is missing (Or someone) that is the withdrawal of Nicotine. Thats is what it felt like for all of us. Thats why we say distract yourself, keep busy, because those feelings will disappear. Smoking is not an option. So don't even consider it. Be strong. Smoking will not make anything better, it will not relax you it will just make you want more. Smoking has nothing that you need. Take deep breaths and enjoy the ability to be able to breathe freely. It does get better, each and every day it gets better! NOPE (Not one puff ever) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,138 Amount Saved: $474.75 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 11 Mins: 52 Seconds: 26

Toxin- I am reading a quit smoking book and it states that you do lose a friend when you stop smoking. here is why-smoking, the friend, is always there whether your sad, happy, mad, angry, etc. Cigarettes never let you down, always the same, and always give you the same feeling. Please don't let this discourage you, but I haven't smoked a cigarette in 6.5 weeks and still miss smoking. But, I am an addict, I didn't really want to quit because I never had any health problems etc. But, I did it with my partner who had three wisdom teeth cut out and couldn't smoke so we decided to just stop. I'm 28 and smoked since I was 14 , exactly half of my life, and I feel like I lost my bestfriend, like they died or something. I have been on wellbutrin for 2 weeks because like you I miss them. I started crying all the time and still do out of nowhere. But, my counselor says it will get better in time. Cigarettes mask ALOT of emotions and feelings that I didn't even know were there. So, if you continue to miss them, don't give in because it won't do anything except bring you back to day 1 and all the withdrawl symptoms. And remember you'll eventually have to quit again. Hi Toxinfree1 Congratulations on your quit. Just remember that that is not the type of friend you need! That friend only makes you smell, cough, wheeze, freeze in the cold, get wet in the rain. Hang in there and new friends are coming aboard!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,236 Amount Saved: $245 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 45 Seconds: 24

Toxinfree 1, it is part of being an addict. Be very careful, our addict minds will try to convince us that we really miss smoking and that this is who we really are. It is not true. Do you miss coughing, smelling bad, planning every act you perform around when you can have your next fix ? Of course you don't. Don't be fooled. Stay strong, stay busy, and use your coping plans. Hi guys! Smoke free 7 days now. It seems that it has been harder on me today (this morning) then it was the first few days. I miss smoking. Feel in a wierd way that I've lost my best buddy. Is this part of the emotional quitting process? -toxin
