Shakes,
I am also very new in here, shy and a chantix user. Your quit has been longer than mine and so I look up to you. My quit is going quite well. I have only had 2 episodes since taking the chantix. One while I was still smoking at the first dosage increase, then one after I quit when I got into an argument with my son. Welcome to the SSC and post, post, post!

Hi all....Did a lot of thinking this weekend, and decided that in order for me to be totally successful with my quit, I can not call myself a "Non-Smoker". I am a recovering smoker. There are Recovering Alcoholics and Recovering Drug Addicts. Since smoking is an addiction, then I am a Recovering Smoker. May be just a psychological thing, but I am proud that I have stopped smoking, and it is a VERY VERY difficult battle. I guess it is just a way to remind myself that this is an every day battle for me and I will win each and every day. Happy Monday!!!!

Butterfly: Yes, for me, it is definately a part of the wording. If I say Non-Smoker, then, to me, it sounds as if I have never been a smoker. Not that I am proud that I was a smoker, just proud that I have quit smoking. Don't know if that makes much sense to most, but in my weird brain it makes total sense! LOL

Thank you for your reply. I agree with you about the quit date. When I put that quit date, wasn't sure how the Chantix was going to react. You are right about the taste also. YUCK!

Congrats to you!!!!!!!!! Angela is so right. Read, Read, Read. Post often. Watch your quit meter. That is what boggles my mind. Watching the unsmoked pile up... the money increase and my life gets LONGER... Read and Post. Today was my first day that I could "really" smell things. It was weird. Also my first day, I took a deep breath, could feel it way down in my lungs and it felt AMAZING! Hang in there...We are here for you!!!!

I am taking Chantix and it is working wonderfully. Since I have quit smoking, I have been soooooooo very tired all the time. Is this normal??? Is it the Chantix or the quit? I went on the Chantix website and it said it could be a side effect, but would only last a few days. I really didn't notice how tired I was until after I quit..
