Oh Kate, I've been where you are right now and then some. Cry, kick, scream, run in circles if you have to, just don't smoke. How about a walk, get out of the house, change your environment for a bit. And remember...THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. My favourite saying right now? This too shall pass. Hang in there girl. We're all here for you. Cheers, Jan

2 months!!! Congrats to you, Valic. You've worked hard for every day under your belt, and I'm really glad to know that the cravings are less frequent. Thank goodness there really is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up the great work, KTQ, and keep posting. Cheers, Jan.

Gonnadoit, here in Canada the patch also comes in 7, 14, and 21 mg. However, about 7 years ago I ran across a new brand that came in different increments again. The only difference with these ones was that they told you definitely not to wear them at night.(I haven't seen this brand this time round.) I have to wear my patch, I'm not taking it off until I finish the program. So I would say all patches basically do the same thing with 7 14 and 21mg being the most common increments. I find the generic patch works just as well and I am following a 12 week program. 6wks at 21mg, 3wks at 14mg, and 3 wks at 7 mg. I learned from a previous quit, where I stepped down from 21 mg to 14 mg after 2 weeks, that this was too soon. The quit didn't last. I don't really know as this helps any, but that's my info. Cheers, Jan

I can't begin to tell you the number of times I have quit and started again. Some quits only lasted an hour or two. After a while I began to feel defeated and thought "what's the use?" My track record was far from stellar!!! This time, I am taking things in very small steps. I try not to think beyond the here and now, not to project how I will feel tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself. One thing that is really helping me this time round is the fact that these cravings, emotions or whatever unpleasantness you are experiencing is only TEMPORARY. The rest of your life will not be like this. It actually does get better. And post here, post often, post whenever you feel the need. And know this - YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Cheers, Jan

Hi Darrell. You have two great reasons to quit. Your sons. Take this journey one day at a time. There are a lot of great people here who will support you along the way. And a lot of us who are going through the same thing as you. Good luck to you! Cheers, Jan

Don't step down too soon, Shannon. I've made that mistake in previous quits. I intend to do the whole program this time. I really want this quit and if I step down too soon, I don't know what might happen. Like you, my cravings aren't too bad(right now), but who knows what tomorrow brings. Stick with program, you'll be glad you did. Cheers, Jan
