72 hours is the minimum amount of time it takes the nicotine to leave. It can take longer. Because of experience, I decide I was clean until after the fifth day.

I need to study for an exam that I'm taking Friday, but I don't seem to know how to study without smoking. I don't beleive that the smoking makes me smarter, quicker, or wiser. I don't know what it does for me, besides allowa me to procrastinate.

I read (a reputable source) that the body stops craving nicotine after about 8 weeks. At eight weeks it then becomes much safer to try a real diet... In the meantime just try to manage the eating by eating carrots, celery, sugar free vitamin c drops are claimed to take the edge off the cravings. Have a talk with hubby.

Did you really love smoking? For years I told myself that. And it was Nicodemon talking. I could not have possibility loved the shortness of breath, the bronchitis that eventually came, the chain smoking that it lead to. I was embarassed by the time I quit. I hated smoking, although Nicodemon has told me on at least one ocassion so far that I loved it.

God never gives you anymore than you can handle, although it may feel like s/he comes close at times. Turn it over. Your son enlisted. Think of the character your child has. Think of the pride you have in him. Think of the pride he'll have in you knowing that you quit. It isn't just the dignity that we show in living, but also the dignity that we show in dying that counts. Let's just play devils advocate. If you knew that tomorrow would be the last time your son saw you, how would you like for him to see you. What if its not the last time he sees you, how would you like for him to remember you. Smoking solves nothing. It doesn't make us calmer. If it did, we would need to smoke so d.amn many of them. It doesn't raise our IQs. It doesn't make us wiser. The one thing I found that is does do for me is allow me to procrastinate. But we are not always in control. The truth is we rarely are. We must learn to be good passengers in life. Manageability is what I seek--not control. Get a grip! Manage your emotions. Even if its true that we have little control, it is also true that we have some influence. You can influence this outcome.

I know what you mean. I started studying for an exam and wanted to smoke for a day and a half. I find that Halls Sugar Free Vitamin C Drops help. Read from a reputable source that vitamin c actually can help take the edge off of cravings. Then I just had to use commonsense. Asked people to sprinkle commonsense dust on me. Smoking was not going to make me any more intelligent, wiser, or quicker. What it was going to allow me to do is procrastinate. Someone said something really help ful one day, They don't know anyone who is happy about starting smoking agin. You won't be happy about it either.
