Aww Shucks! Thank you all for your kind words of support! I'm still doing my best to kick butt(s) by being forever vigilant to the wonderful adage of N.O.P.E (Not One Puff EVER) that I learned from you all here at SSC! Am so glad to be through this first month tobbaco free!
I'm so glad you've overcome some of your 'ShyOne' ways to share your great perspective with us! You have no idea how many nights this past month I was soooo ready to hand the reins over to that Big Bully; aka My Addict', but I couldn't because it was more important to stay accountable you & JoDee; the Newbie 2011 Quit team! I always love reading your posts ShyOne; Thanks! I hope you reward yourself Big time for you One Month + 2 day Quit! Eya
Hey Quit Sistahs! Just checkin' in after a few days away. Looks like lots of cool things and new posts happenin' here; Roxie; 2 days ago - tomorrow; JoDee's One Month Quit - Wow! Can you believe we're doing it! I almost don't feel like a newbie quitter anymore!
Roxie: Glad to share inspiration when it comes to tear channeling - agreein' with ya - may as well have a decent excuse to let loose LOL! Sorry that your spa day wasn't all you hoped for. I bet you look great as a 'bright blond' anyway - but if not, my suggestion is to get some very dark sunglasses for yourself before looking in a mirror. - OR - you can try my method; When I feel like a dog's breakfast, I steam my BR up real good before my shower; & only look at myself in the mirror when it's all clouded up. This also works good when stepping on scale (too steamy to read it) Either way works great! I always look fine as long as I stick to that rule, & (currently) don't care if my hubby calls me the Queen of DeNile!
JoDee: How did your weekend go? I hope awesome!
Aloha: You're like Island Sunshine; Thanks for all your great posts!
Shevie: Your posts are so thoughtful -you truly saved my 'NOPE butt' one night; I would have caved, but for that post! Thanks
Welcome Marbles :) I quit tons of times before coming here; I thought I had such great willpower; but would inevitably cave to the crave! But the support and program here at SSC brings a new perspective for long lasting Quits - the quit meter is so cool - it's great to see how well your quit is going and to see others working on the same goals - no matter how many times you tried before - it is always worth it to keep trying! So glad you decided to come back and join us and that you smell great with brighter skin to boot! Good for you!
Welcome JMontgomery! I understand your desire to bypass the NRT this time - I got addicted to using patches to quit when I wanted to - but quitting that way meant I never dealt with the truth; namely -I am an ADDICT - I couldn't get that concept in my head until I came here to SSC and learned NOPE (Not One Puff Ever). So I wenty with CT too. Good for you for pullin' that plug!
Good Morning everyone :) Am so excited to make it through another weekend tobacco free! I have lots of energy this morning to strut my stats in this week's parade!
Congratulations on reaching one whole Month JoDee! How're things workin' out with Mr Tread? Hope he's treating you bettah than Mr Buttah these days (we're talking bottom line here of course)! Here's to one sweet reward on your One Month Anniversary You deserve it! Eya
Hi All Quitters! Hey JoDee! So glad to see you again - Hmm - is that you a few years ago (new avatar)? Or is that another one of your cute relatives (grand daughter or niece?) YAY! for you on keeping the Quit even with smoke in your car and house. Grrr! Sorry to hear of your Dad in Law - not a nice disease, and very stressful for your family, I'm sure. We don't let anyone smoke in our house (only the outbuilding 'sugar shack') - but for some reason the car is still a smoke zone. I was totally disappointed in my quit buddy for lighting up after only one week into our 'mutual quit' - until I I realized the irony - duh! like how many X have I bailed on her before!
So glad you're saving your $$$ but do you think you'll miss your casino bonus afternoon? Are you going to do your hair instead? I learned from something valuable from Shy One and used my 'bonus' smoke money to get a few 'bright blond' highlights in my otherwise dk hair (went to the salon) So I'm lookin' pretty racy, even though I'm a bit of a Buddha-Butt already after 5 wks Quit and 13 excess lbs later. Tackling that . . . but still NOPE!
I agree with Tiana - You do sound determined! I understand your desire to start with a clean Quit by resetting your Meter. You aren't alone in doing that Marbles ! I'm kind of new here (wk 5 of my NOPE Quit), but I had to do the same thing as you - Reset my Quit Meter after the first 5 days of my initial Quit. I had done well until that first weekend (weak-end?) but got sucked in to falling for 'a few puffs' off my hubby's smokes that first Friday night. I'd caved so many times before, he even left me a few smokes when he left for work on Monday morning (he's works out of town during the week). But I threw out the smokes he left for me so I wouldn't be tempted by them , Reset My Meter, 'Fessed up to you all here at SSC about my 'slip' and started on a fresh Quit! I CLUED into NOPE - finally, and am proud to still be smoke free since resetting my meter that one time! So You GO FOR IT Marbles! You're being honest with yourself now; you've reset your Meter. Now you can watch out for those nasty triggers that sneak up on you and avoid them by just saying NOPE next time! You can do it ! Eya
