Hi caligirl - welcome to SSC. To get your meter showing, go to "Profile" - key in your quit date (it can be in the past or future) and make sure to mark in the list that you want it to show every time you post.
We're glad to see you. Be an active participant here and follow the program. This is my second quit with SSC. I didn't follow the program the first time and do the right things - I lost my quit. Luckily the people here are wonderful. Read and post! We'll be rooting for you.

Api - I'm so proud of you!!! It's awesome to hear that it can be done. I'm only a week into it but that's been my goal - a lifestyle change. I've been working out daily and journaling to keep track of what I'm doing. I'm not the best of cooks (understatement) even with regular recipes, so substituting really throws me. But I am concentrating on making wiser choices - healthy carbs, lots of protein, no saucy fats like mayo, more fruits and veggies. I'm not always successful but I'm trying to remember that this much change doesn't happen overnight. Baby steps and all.
Keep up the good work and let us know as you reach more goals!

Why is it that remembering to drink, drink, drink water is the toughest thing? I've heard from so many fit friends that this is one of the keys to successfully losing weight. Maybe the biggest. Unfortunately I forget to remember! I'm keeping an exercise/activity journal - maybe I'll add number of waters to my daily recap.

Pupikat - it sounds like you've been having a very hard time of it. Good thing you quit smoking - your health issues could be a lot worse if you still smoked! It would certainly be making things more difficult for you and your doctors.
Just wanted to let you know that I'm praying for your quick recovery. Hang in there.
