The 2nd day is so much harder!

The 2nd day has been soooo much worse than the first! I feel so mean, I can actually feel the anger in my finger tips and toes! It's not enough to make me go to the store and buy a smoke, but jeez! And I am glaring at other smokers! And...I swear if I could have found a cigarette in my car this evening I would have smokded it, but thankfully I couldn't...to be honest I didn't look for one. But if one magically appeared in my cup holder, I think I would have snatched it up....ohhh...I hope tomorrow isn't this hard, but I know it will be. :gasp: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10 Amount Saved: $1.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 10 Seconds: 24

The 2nd day is so much harder!

Yes, yes. I need to stay busy. If I can focus my mind on something else, I should be ok. I am doing the breathing exercises, that is what helped me throughout the day, that and drinking lots of water. I think I need to make sure I have a bottle of water on me at all times, that really seems to help. Pick the water up, put the chocolate down! Thanks...one more day down. :| My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10 Amount Saved: $1.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 13 Seconds: 54

Today was much better

Today was easier.  I still wanted a cigarette when I became aggravated, but other than that I was able to just focus on work, not smoking.  I wonder if this will be an alternating thing, bad day good day.  I am eating so much though.  I think I easily ate 3 cups of brocolli today, 1/2 cucumber, too many pieces of chocolate.  Oh there goes my size 6!  It's better to be healthy, that's what I keep telling myself.  I believe it is.

Thanks for listening to me wonder on.

I've signed up for the txt and email subscriptions, but have yet to receive any.  I checked my junk mail too, nada.  Anyone else have this issue?

NEED SOME ADVICE

Ohhhh....thank goodness someone can feel my pain!  I've eaten more in my 3 days of quit than I normally do in a week.  I am trying to stay on healthy, but I'm eating so much it gets old.  I think I will try breaking the cookies!

GAINING FAST

Beckylnn,

I totally feel your pain.  I feel 20lbs heavier than I did 4 days ago (wow, I'm on day 4, hehe).  I keep eating so much and feel so heavy.  I think the "feeling" of being heavy is probably from not being used to eating this much, and not being used to having a "full" belly all the time.  It's like being bloated.  But we should stay focused on the quit, and not the weight right now.  I'm giving my self a free pass up to 10lbs while I'm quitting.  If I put on over 10lbs, then I will start focusing on dieting too.  But I'd rather have an extra 10lbs than black lungs.  Good luck, and post often, I'm cheering for you!

I relapsed...please help

Dont' beat yourself up about it, this is a really hard thing to do.  But every minute that goes by is another chance to start over and kick the habit.  So start now if you can.

Try to take some time to think about what triggers made you light up again, and if you identify them, avoid those situations or try to find healthier ways to deal with them (like posting here).  I'm rooting for you!

out of control

Mamma D....you sound very smart and have a realistic view on the situation.  Stay strong, come here often, we know you can fight this urge.  Four days is a wonderful accomplishment, congrats!  Maybe take some time for yourself, get your nails done or read a good book.  Something just for you.

Danielle
