Mamma D....you sound very smart and have a realistic view on the situation.  Stay strong, come here often, we know you can fight this urge.  Four days is a wonderful accomplishment, congrats!  Maybe take some time for yourself, get your nails done or read a good book.  Something just for you.

Momma D,

You have my sympathy on your loss. I hope you can remember that the desire to smoke is still going to be with you, but you are strong and can cope.

There is strength in numbers, and there is a bunch of people here behind you.

Mamma D  I am so sorry for your loss.  I want to tell you that when I first quit we were expecting and did lose a very important person in our life.  My son's best friend of 10 years was 19years old when he died and leukemia and I did not have to smoke over it.  The thing is that it won't change anything except your health.  So don't smoke and keep posting.  All will be ok.

I'm sorry for the loss of your family member..   You are right smoking isn't going to help anything.......

If you can dedicate your Quit to that person.. or someone special it might help.  Also deep breathing helps really good deep breaths.   sometimes  "fake smoking"  ok .that is junkie thinking .. but using a straw cut to the length of a cigarette and just breathing in deep .. may get your crave under control.. without really smoking...

I found frozen juice bars or ice chips.. getting my mouth really cold.  sometimes cinnamon or something spicey...

You are doing great.. coming here and posting for help...    Just remember it will pass.. and every time you Say NO  it gets easier to say No.. sometimes you have to Yell it .. but it is easier to get the NO out.....

Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.  You know it won't help, so do something that will and that will help occupy you.  Baking or cooking for the family is a wonderful way to help them and yourself get through this.

Keep yourself strong, and give yourself time to grieve with a family member or friend.  You know that the cigarette is no longer a friend.

Momma D--first I extend my sympathy to you and your family on your loss.

Very perceptive of you to say--that smoking will not change anything...it has taken many of us some time to say and actually really know the truth in this statement.

Practice whatever you can to get through each minute---Slow deep breaths, water, prayer, walks, baths and whatever you can think of not to smoke.....

This will be difficult--but just remember it can be done...just NOPE.....

We're all here for you--stay strong, Deb

Hey Gang
Going  through a really tough time time right now.  A family member just passed and its just the excuse to light up.  I know it changes nothing and it will only make me feel worse than I already do.  Big breath...........I can do this without smoking!!!!!
There will be many tragedies to overcome throughout life and non smokers have them too!!!   Need some encouragement right now.
