I need chat

I know it will happen for me. Don't know if it will be Saturday or some other day, but it will happen. This is the first time I've set a quit date. I've quit 3 times in my life. The first time I was in my twenties and I quit for 2 years. The second time was for 7 months and the third time was about 4 years ago and I last 2 months. Each time I just quit. I'm not throwing in the towel but I just don't have any energy for the excited of it that I felt the first week I was on this site. We'll see what happens. It is very important for me to be on here and see all the support though. I quit drinking 6 years ago and I just quit that too. I have a support group that keeps me that way and I will do this as well, however I know that when it time, I will do it. It will feel right and it will be ok for me. I just hope that time is soon. Terry, the quit will happen. You have to much SSC in your blood now :eg: Seriously, I remember getting ready to quit and then the closer the day came I would have something come up that put it off again. The death of your son's friend, that is different. But how many times have you set a quit date and then reset it? Just wondering. For me I finally made the commitment to quit and I did, then the chattering started in the head. It is to hard, I can't do this, maybe I wasn't ready, crap I just want one, I will have one darn it and then I smoked. I would reset a new quit day and do the over and over until something happened (allen carr's book and chantix). We are all wanting this for you, but only you can do the quit. Terry, I think that is to be expected given that you are right in the throes of grief. You've still got three days before the quit and you may not "feel" like it even on Saturday. My signature line has been one of the most important lessons I've learned over the last couple years - It's about commitment, not feelings. I'm sure there are days you don't feel like going to work or whatever but you do. Quitting is the same thing. I think right now you need all your energy and strength to grieve. It may get more intense once you quit too so don't be alarmed; emotions can come to surface more easily without the nicotine pushing them out of the way. But that is GOOD. That is HEALTHY. Praying for you and Shane's family... I haven't yet quit! My quit date is the 9th. I changed it a few days ago. I just don't feel the same drive to quit as I did. I'm depressed and sad and just not feeling it. Can't get myself motivated to go to the gym as usual. Services for Shane are not until Friday and it's been a very hard week ALREADY! I don't really know where I am at with this right now.

Terry, what's up with you? What is "faltering" in you? Are you doing the iced water and sucking on drinking straws when you get a craving? Can you make a huge effort to come in here to SSc and tell us what is on your mind? Just keep reading and posting here when you feel weak and tired... get your backbone back in action and REFUSE to be beaten by a lousy little cigarette... you're a fine looking woman and you should gather even more pride to yourself by staying in your Quit through Hell Week! Don't smoke, Terry. Fight, fight, fight...
