Oh no, I am back home after visiting family. I have this nagging feeling. I have read lost of post about it. Its like the crave that is not going away. I have done well since day 3, but this week has made me crazy. I was fine until on the drive today I started getting tired. My junkie was sayin if I smoked I would be alert. Just like that I can not get rid of it. My hubby is coming home soon. He is gonna smell like it. I have not been aroud him for 4days now. He wants to go out. I am tired and just feeling crazy. I have made it 17 days. I have survived super hell week. Also made it threw crazy family week, 2 five hr drives/w2 kids. I can do this. Thanks everyone. I really needed that. I am overwelmed by all of your support. I am actully tearing up. I got him to go get pizza, the good kind. So I have time to calm down. Yes smoking right now would be dumb. I told hubby how I was feeling so he kept his smoking out of my sight. I even resited going out w/him. For I don't trust my hands, no my brain at this min. Why is it that the majority of me does not want to smoke. I feel like the strongest part is in control. So why do i feel like that week little part of me is gonna win. I don't want to be a smoker anymore, but there is a small part of me screaming for a cig. Dang junkie, I thought I locked him in the closet. I guess he had to poke his ugly head out at least for a little while. Thank you everyone you really put me back in my place. Grace

hi everyone. Well today is a new day. Thank goodness. Wow I sounded dumb yesterday. Well I guess it is better to sound dumb than to act it. So glad I did not cave to that. It is true, it will pass. I am proof. That 3hrs was tough, I thought I was gonna lose it. However I came here and kept delayin. I also got myself occupied with other things. And NOPE, NOPE, NOPE. It does work. I so thankful of this place. And very thankful to God, for givinmg me brains+the strenght to use them. Grace not garce

Hey Grace; Please don't throw that quit away. Trust me when I say it isn't worth it - ! IT ISN'T WORTH IT ! Whatever you think that cigarette might solve or help or calm down - IT WON'T. Trust me on this one, I threw a 15 day quit away and have had to start it all over again. It's not worth it, it's WORSE than what you're feeling now. Hang in there, it'll pass, it'll pass . . . I guarantee it will pass! Grace, You are a super strong woman! This might SEEM like a super strong crave, but you are super stronger! :p Hang on and don't let go! Perhaps going out tonight isn't the best plan... especially if "going out" includes alcohol. If so, then you might want to refrain. Better safe than sorry. Use your coping mechanisms and keep using them until the craving goes away. It WILL go away! You're doing great! Crave the Quit! Grace, I'm proud of you for staying in and recognizing your weaknesses and not tempting fate on this one. That is very smart and very brave! As for the junkie rearing its ugly head, I take comfort in those times because it's those times that remind me how much I don't want to smoke ever again. See, if we smoke, then we have those times about ever 20 minutes or so... until we can get another fix. Now, I don't have them all too often, but when I do, it reminds me of how far I've come and how much I don't want to go back. So take comfort in knowing that while these times might not be fun, they are a reminder of a time in your life that is over that you do NOT want to go back to! You're doing so great! Crave the Quit! Grace! No, no, no no, no!!! You have a fantastic quit going. Don't blow it now! Remember that some of the worst craves happen to us when we're: Hungry Angry Lonely Tired When the hubby gets home, level with him and tell him you're dog-tired -- so dog-tired you're at your wit's end and in danger of losing all you worked so hard for for 17 days. Suggest the two of you go out tomorrow night -- make it a real celebration. A celebration that you're back home, a celebration to recognize how wonderful he is for understanding and helping you through this, and a real celebration that you overcame your biggest challenge yet! You CAN do this, Grace! I know YOU can! Attagirl, Grace! I am so proud of you! Now, how about taking a nice warm bath, having a nice cup of tea and hitting the sack early tonight, and get some rest? Tomorrow will be here soon enough, and when you awake just think how glad you'll be you made it through and have 18 days to show for it! :) Best, Livadia My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,377 Amount Saved: $340 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 0 Mins: 52 Seconds: 43
