Symptoms of pannic are killing me

Howdy Neighbor, My name is Della, I'm living in Surfside/Mrytle Beach, SC. I'm 47, married for 28years and a daughter 24. You are describing Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), although it doesn't always have to be just the legs. I have stomach quivers, twitching arms, face, shoulders at times. Even my ribs, and at times can't breathe well. Search for RLS on the net. It may answer a few questions. Hope this helps. Della

The only real changes I notice is that I smoke 1/10 of what I did before Wellbutrin and my appetite is somewhat diminished. Both unexpected and welcome side effects. The first week was horrible, I was so wired, nauseated and exhausted. Those wore off. My DH says that he noticed changes. I am more even tempered, able to deal with change and more likely to go out of the house than I was before. When depression hits me, I am able to shake it off. Guess it's working just fine, lol.

Seattle Doll, I didn't even tell my husband. I feel sorry for him. After the birth of my third child, the post partum depression was crippling, and was quickly followed by horrible anxiety attacks. I was afraid to go to sleep at night. After the birth of my fourth child, I waited, but felt fine...for three years. Suddenly I was forty, dying of (cancer -lung, brain, ovarian, stomach, bone; several lung diseases; MS, Parkinson's and early onset Alzheimer's). I would drag him out of bed to rush me to the ER where they would x-ray me, sedate me and send me home. Poor guy, he is the one who needed the sedatives. It was 18 months of hell. Our family doctor never mentioned anxiety, he treated whatever symptom I presented. I had inhalers, allergy meds, sleeping pills, birth control pills. I think he gave me whatever he had in his desk drawer. The attacks subsided as quickly as they came. I have not had one for 13 years when suddenly they came with such force I was afraid to get out of my chair, fall asleep or go to bed. I was certain I was having heart attacks, strokes, blood clots (and a few more). Out of the blue, I realized that since I wasn't dead, and I felt fine between my short bouts of impending death and life threatening illnesses, I was probably having an anxiety attack. After checking with my doctor, I am glad I didn't start dragging the poor guy to the ER. Although he means well, he's not much help in getting through an attack, or working through this current condition. Because I am also working on a depression problem, my doctor put me on Wellbutrin and my husband is so thrilled with the results that he doesn't even notice my discomfort. Maybe when this is history, or if it gets to be life altering to the point that I can no longer function enough to get by, I'll share. For now, one of us being anxiety free is good enough.

Hey Mikel, What have you tried so far that hasn't worked? You will find that everyone has different opinions of treatments. Some like meds (but not all), some do well with meditation or self talk...there are so many options. Try the online Panic program in here...it's interesting and helpful. Does anyone close to you know about your problem? I finally confided in a friend and we have a code for when I;mhaving an attack. We don't talk out loud about it because it makes it worse,,,,,but when I say a certain thing, she knows to start distracting me until it goes away.

I don't know if this will help anyone because everyone experiences things differently, but I have found that the more panic attacks I have, the less afraid I am of them. This, however, doesn't stop me having one!! I still suffer the racing heart, the dizziness, the unbalanced feeling, the upset tummy etc, I have just decided now that if I was going to die I would have by now, all these feelings are still scary but I try and tell myself its just anxiety. Its a bit weird really as you would have thought it would have stopped a bit if I am not actually panicking about having a panic, but I have just accepted I will probably always feel this way, I think i've rambled and don't actually make much sense now, but what I was trying to say is that, and this is obvious, but you must try and not be scared of the symptoms.

Mikel, Welcome to the site. Please continue to share your thoughts with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you. We are all a group of individuals who support each other. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better help assess the situation for all involved parties We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free". If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

yes it is tough. i have experienced panic attacks my since i was a teenager and have resisted medication. they are becoming more frequent now, what is actually difficult too is the fear one has that another one is going to come on unexpected when you aren't at home. i started on zoloft but didn't like the side effects i was experiencing when trying to increase my dosage after a couple of weeks so I stopped. i am trying to rely on god for help.
