Hi Sonia,
I did find something which summarized the book, by the author into 3 parts.  I can't list the link since it's against PC policy, which is why I asked.  The summary breaks the "habit" into cue, routine and reward.  What's most important, according to the author, is the reward.  He even talked about his personal experience, in layman's terms. 
 
I was hoping one of you could translate the theory into CBT terms?
 
As for Mediaspeak, I was astonished at the data which companies had decades ago about our habits during commercial breaks, as well as the cues that come during tv, for food and shopping.  Maybe I'll look for that book during my spring cleaning, and reread the book.

Is there a You Tube video, or paper on the internet that might concisely summarize it? 
 
I understand, from a behaviourist viewpoint, how easy it is to manipulate people.  Years ago, I read a book called "Mediaspeak" which spoke to our vulnerability about how the media manipulates us through tv.
