Hello Davit. Today and before reading your post I bought vegetal fibers to reduce the cholesterol. I do not know if this is diffferent from vegetal sterols as you mentioned but I will ask in the pharmacy.
I,m just curious if you ever tried vegetable sterols for high cholesterol. It never ceases to amaze me the connection between anxiety and physical conditions and vice versa.
I review myself on this post. My stressful life on the last years had lead me to high colesterol and prolactin, blured vision, anxiety, panic, depression and obsessive thinking.
Thanks for steering me in the right direction..There no time like the present to get started...
I did a search like you suggested and came across all kind of good stuff..
I came across some of my old posts while I was at it and was pleasantly surprised to see how much progress I have made since I started here. I didn't remember doing the stress management before. I find that as time goes by I just seem to get better and better. I am still learning a lot and progressing every time I do this exercise...Amazing!!
I have lead a very stressful life and I have a lot of the health issues you have listed here except for Adult-Onset Diabetes and have not taken care of myself properly..
I was wondering when we will be starting to work on stress management?
I am looking forward to learning how to create a stress plan...
Hi Davit: This is interesting. True enough there have been times in our culture when people didn't have enough, money or food. What to do? I'm thinking of going vegetarian - maybe not all the way, but at least eating more legumes and tofu (which I like anyway) instead of meat every single day. It can be a real challenge to see where else you can cut back especially if you are already stretched tight. We tend to eat too much anyway. I do like to recycle things. Wish more people did it. We are a throw away society, just look at the garbage pickup. A lot of that is the packaging of items. Isn't there some kind of "plastic" island out in the ocean about the size of Texas - all garbage which we have thrown out which the currents have brought together. It is sad no one even wants to bother to pick it up because there's nothing in it for them. Oooops better stop before I get too negative about world politics.
And what do you plan for the failing economy. Money and bills are the biggest stress producers and probably more cause for people to not eat right or get adequate sleep. As for proper exercise, where is the time if you are working all the time. A friend of mine took another job for her two weeks holiday because she can't afford not too. I cook her supper at least one day a week, so I know we have at least one good meal. (better than none)
We’ve talked about anger, stress and disputes. We will now be discussing specific stress management strategies in a variety of settings & contexts.
In general, individuals who lead stressful lives often do not care for themselves adequately. They eat, exercise and sleep when they can as opposed to when they need to. This lack of self-care as it relates to stress can have devastating effects. It has been linked to:
Adult-Onset Diabetes
High Cholesterol Levels
Hypertension
IBS
Stomach Ulcers
Migraine Headaches
Heart Attack & Cardiovascular Disease
Mental Health Crises & Illness
Tune in on later when we’ll discuss creating a stress plan!
