Good point why not compound relaxation techniques! You can't lose at the least you will get some distraction at the best you will have more coping tools.

Davit has a point, but I agree with you as well that it was worth a try. Figuring out how to help yourself it so important. Have you given up on massage? What about using that as a second step? i.e. doing something first (meditation, breathing) to help you get to the place where the massage can then still be therapeutic? Aromatherapy massage with essential oils that are targeted for relaxation and calming would be another option.
 
What else works for people that might be a little less run of the mill?

Could it be that you were hoping for a magic bullet and picking at it to see if it was there instead of relaxing and letting it happen. At the height of an emotionally bad day it is pretty hard for anything to work, I feel and I may be wrong but under those circumstances the best you can hope for is some relief. It is really hard to believe in anything on those days. At least for me.

Hi,
I have tried massage - always relaxing. I went when I was at the height of a panic ridden day and it didn't help all that much, but it was worth the try.
Yoga and meditation helps me too.

I have tried accupuncture and Hypnotherapy before i went on an SSRI, I still enjoy the accupuncture and find it very relaxing, i felt the Hypnotherapy made me feel more confident for a while, neither is a cure but if it is relaxing you then why not

This is why I hate TLAs   Three letter acronyms. ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate. A test for infection and unusual stress such as arthritis on the body, a test I have done every two weeks to check for staph infection.

Just like SAD, seasonal adjusted disorder or social anxiety disorder. 

I looked for ESR under those letters and only came up with mine, Thank you.

ESR stands for emotional stress release. This is a light touch applied to specific points that have been found to enhance blood flow to our bodies and organ structures. The points on the frontal eminences (the two highest points on the forehead) were found to be especially beneficial for releasing emotional stress. Feel free to do some research on ESR and let us know what you come up with.

  • Herbal supplements, nutritional therapy and Chinese medicine
