Nick,

Thank you for sharing.  Often feeling dizzy can accompany panic but it is important that you discuss your symptoms with your doctor.

In the meantime, try taking 30 seconds between each shift in position.

For ex: Going from lying to sitting, take a 30 second pause before getting up to a standing position.

Also, panic can often be triggered by a stressful life event.  The end of a relationship can most be considered a stressful life event.  Stress management, exercise and relaxation techniques can help with your overall stress level and people with panic should try to incorporate these activities into their daily routines.

Hi
just wanted to tell you a little more about my situation.

It all started just over 2 years ago now at the time I was going through a relationship break up which hit me really hard. About a month after the breakup my sister in law gave birth to my little niece, so we went to the hospital to visit.  While there I started to feel really sick and was getting very hot, I decided to go get some fresh air.  On my way walking through the corridor I became lightheaded and dizzy then my vision went completly black.  The next thing I knew I was on the floor coming round with all the nurses around me.  I was made to go the the a&e department to be checked out as I had hit my head on the floor and had a black eye come up and a big bump.  They done some checks and after a few hours I was allowed home.
Now 2 weeks after this happened I started to feel sick lightheaded and dizzy when ever I went anywhere going to shops supermarket I would start to panic and have to leave the situation, so I started to avoid these things. I still go to work and seem to be fine there sometimes walking home from work I can have a panic attack.
I was put on citalopram which really freaked me out so stopped taking them I tried hypnotherapy which hasn't worked.

I would love to get my life back again to go shopping go to cinema to the pub with friends for a meal out even to go on holiday would be great.
