Hello,
I have OCD (more obsessions, not really compulsions, but I've been there too.)
They mostly center around my health, germs and getting sick. I'll happily discuss this if anyone want to.

Brandie,

Have you tried taking the anxiety test.  It is a good idea to be honest and take a copy to your next doctor or therapists appointment.  It can help you better assess you unique situation and pinpoint areas that you can work on.

I have really bad anxiety. Everyday of my life is a different set of symptoms. I don't have the compulsions, but I have the obsessive thoughts...........you know wondering what is really wrong with me all the time. Does this mean that I actually have OCD too? I could never find a straight answer to this question.

Dear Members,
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) occurs when anxiety manifests itself through persistent and uncontrollable thoughts (obsessions) or by the compelling need to perform one or more actions repeatedly (compulsion). Compulsions are usually related to the obsessive thoughts that individuals possess.

Obsessions tend to focus on:
- Fears (such as being contaminated by germs)
- Doubts (such as forgetting to lock the door)
- Impulses (such as hurting oneself or others).

Compulsions consist of actions such as:
- Cleaning
- Checking
- Actions that prevent impulses from occurring

Do you have any questions about OCD or similar behaviour patterns? Please ask, share your experiences or comment.
