Pain in face?

Thanks! I feel so much better knowing it may actually be anxiety. It's just so weird that it came so out of the blue. I think I'll get one of those 'bites' that prevent you from grinding during the nighttime. thanks again :)

I get a lot of pains in my jaw also. It's always in the area where I had a wisdom tooth pulled. Sometimes when I'm chewing, it will feel like electrical shooting pain through that area. Other times, it feels like a bad toothache although I've gone to the dentist and was told there isn't a cavity there. I think maybe that I grind my teeth in my sleep when I'm going through an especially stressful or anxious time. I also realized that when I get anxious during the day, I clench my jaws. Make a habit of relaxing your jaw throughout the day. Especially when you're feeling anxious or panicky. That might help. The clenching jaw would also affect your temple because that bone goes pretty high up. Hope that helps! ;)

Hi AngieCBC, You are right - this may be a symptom of anxiety, fellow members will be responding soon. Please also though be sure to consult with your doctor if this symptom does not resolve. Casey ________________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

I see in the list of symptoms that pain in face / jaw can be caused by anxiety. I have this pain in my temple / jaw / cheekbone area that hurts a lot. It started 3 days ago, I was trying to fall asleep and all of the sudden my temple started hurting incredibly. It does seem to get worse when I am nervous, but it comes and goes - it's not constant. This pain also makes it difficult to swallow - but again that might be the anxiety. Can anyone tell me if they also have these pains or if it sounds more like TMJ? Thanks.
