Hi SneakySmoker,
Welcome to the
Stop
Smoking
Center website. I like your user name too.
Wow, a 5 year quit down the drain due to a lapse in judgement. Now you are paying for it, and have to go through detox again. I really hope you know what the trigger was that made you start up again, so you can AVOID it or battle it head on the next time. "
My stress burden is high and I use it as my...comfort." We all know that smoking does not really relieve stress, it's just a crutch we use thinking it does. There are better and healthier ways to help relieve your stress. Some of them are:
Deep breathing exercises.
Exercise your body.
Meditate.
Get on here and vent, or keep a personal journal and write down what's making you stress. Writing things usually helps put things in perspective.
Laughing is a good one too.
Listen to music you like.
Play with your pet if you have one.
There are literally hundreds of more ways to help you relieve stress.
You have been through this before so you know what to expect on your quit journey. Well maybe you remember, it HAS been over 5 years.
Sorry couldn't resist that. See, laughing does help to lower stress, chuckles work too!
If you want to get your meter running, go up to the "my program" at the top of the page then go into settings. You can enter all of the info in there.
I wish you the best on your new journey SneakySmoker, stay strong!
