hey jan, thanks so much for posting. i can totally relate to having some quit time. i had 8 years. and in all honesty, it wasn't a big deal for me if i'd bum a smoke a couple of times a year from friends. my all-out lethal move is to buy a pack -- ya know, just so i have one in the house if i want it once in a while. that's what killed my 8 years. and then i've had little quits like you, generally 3 to 5 days. as soon as i buy a pack it's all over. so today is day 7, my first week down. i've probably gained a couple of pounds but i'll lose it quick enough. i'm looking at my meter and it says i've saved $24.99 this week; that's $100 a month. i still have those periods throughout the day where i feel like i'm missing something. as long as i get through it without going to the store, i'm good.

Hi Jan,
 Welcome to the Stop Smoking Center. "I've quit for 7-30 days in the past with success, but always seem to fall off the wagon". 
Hopefully each time you fell off the wagon you learned something, so the next time the same thing will not happen to you again. Each failure should make you stronger and better equipped to fight the urge the next time it happens. 
 "I found an online forum like this extremely helpful for motivation and for help during times when I was feeling weak". This is a great place to come and write down your frustrations and your success's. Nothing wrong with venting if it helps to alleviate the urge.  Usually by the time you post your message the urge has subsided. There is also a ton of great information from fellow users in here to help you stay on your quit journey. You can also learn from their mistakes too. The more you know about what to expect and the better prepared you are, the easier it "should" be to stay on that path to freedom from nicotine. Read, read, read. 
 I wish you the best on your journey. Stay strong and watch out for all those triggers.

I've quit for 7-30 days in the past with success, but always seem to fall off the wagon. I found an online forum like this extremely helpful for motivation and for help during times when I was feeling weak. I am hoping to lean on others, read posts and to do anything BUT smoke!
