Hi Fool (haha never addressed someone that way before)
I completely relate to your feelings of not wanting or caring to stop smoking. I felt the same for many years. I thoight ld smoke til l die and didnt mind doing so until the last year l finally came to some sense and realised lm not unfallible...l can die from this. Im sorry to hear about your health problems. I dont think it makes it any easier to stop when youre forced to because of health. I understand your unhappiness in these early stages....lve also been trying to quit so far unsuccessfully. All l can offer is that if you hang in there tackling one day at a time your sadness will soon change to gladness. Though quitting takes a long time mentally l dont think it will take your feelings about smoking as long to change. You will feel better soon that yoire doing something positive for your health. Keep busy/distracted and keep posting here about how youre travelling. All the best with yoir health issues

Hi everyone:) I'm Fool101, female turning 40 soon. I started smoking in my late teens and smoked about 20 a day. I started with fags but ended up smoking roll ups. Very classy, right? I've read Allen Carr's book and agreed with him. I still carried on smoking though! I've packed up smoking 5 days ago because I HAVE to. NOT because I WANT to. I've been diagnosed with Lupus SLE 2 years ago and Im in a lot of pain with inflammation. My risk of getting a heart attack is at 80% and my kidneys are in bad shape. I've been told about this 2 years ago but still didnt stop. Now I have an irregular heart beat so I've given up. Im an unhappy non smoker. I'm hoping somebody here shares/ understand my feelings and can help. The money saving never did much to motivate me. I always thought my health would be the thing to make me want to stop but turns out I was wrong!
