Hey Whttiger79!!!

Welcome and congrats on your decision to quit!  I know most of us here wished that we had made that decision after only 2 years!!  Way to go!!!  Stick close, read and learn and if you have any questions or concerns, jump right in and ask!  You now have a whole bunch of new quit buddies here to help you along the way to freedom!  Determination, commitment and a Positive Mental Attitude will make this whole process more bearable, so continue to psych your self up for the big day!

Hi White Tiger ! Well you made the right decision and came to the right place. I always get a bit animated when I see someone like you, who has not smoked for very long, come to the site. It's because you have the BEST chance to benefit from quiting smoking. I am very proud of myself for quitting smoking now for over a year but I smoked for 35 years ! How Stupid ! and I'll never get those years back . BUT YOU CAN ! you didn't do it YET ! Please , please,  please  DON"T DO IT TIGER.

OK now that I have all that drama out of my system- I can also tell you that all the tools you need to succeed are right here for you. If you stick around , read a lot, post a lot and research (here and all over the web among other places) what nicotine addiction  is I think you'll find that it's not all that hard to do.The Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allan Carr is also very helpful and it's a short read. Education is a powerful quitting method. So find your way, but stick around because all of us know what you are going through when others in your life may not. Stick around White Tiger and we'll do this together.

Hi whttiger79,

Welcome to the group. You have come to the right place to quit smoking. Start by working your way through the program. It will help prepare and motivate you. Also, plan on posting in the support group often. Many members attribute their quit success to the support they have received in this very forum.

Many smokers have tried to quit many times before going on to have a successful quit.  The key is to learn from it.  What did you learn from your last quit attempts? What will you be doing differently this time? What will you be doing the same?

I'm done with the smoking. I have only been smoking for about 2 yrs and I have no reason why I started. I have tried numerous times to quit but I'm so determined to be a non-smoker once again.
