Cigarettes Not Smoked
Debby, welcome to the SSC! I hope this will be your final quit! They say it takes the average smoker 7 tries to finally quit, so don't worry if you've tried before. So let's get you all prepared, because if you are 110% prepared, your chances of success are greatly increased. Go through "my program" so you have an action plan for this quit. It really helps you understand your addiction to nicotine. Add your quit meter to your postings from "my profile" so you can see your progress. Both My Program and My Profile are in the main heading of this site. Set up a reward system with a small reward for each passed cravings, a medium sized reward for each day smoke free, and a larger reward for each smoke free week. My reward today will be taking my dog for a long walk since it is a Beautiful St. Patrick's Day here in Columbus! Read, read, and read some more! Do a search on "the patch" as there is alot of great information on this site, including tips and tricks and best practices. Post as often as you need, if only to vent, rave, scream, etc. Just remember this quit is all about YOU!!! Spoil yourself. Take long baths. Sleep in. Do whatever you need to do! And know that somebody is always here, 24/7, to help! We're all rooting for your success!
