Welcome Kitty! This site has truly been probably the most significant factor in making me remain smoke free each day. I, too have had multiple attempts & really feel the support on this sote has made a real positive impact on my ability to quit this time. Read, post, breath deep often, drink lots of water & you can and WILL beat the demon. Welcome Hellokitty! Glad you came aboard. You've made an excellent decision to stop smoking. You'll get loads of help here. Post often, it helps a lot. One day at a time is the way to go. I'm using the patch as well, and I find its really helped me. Hope you enjoy SSC! Hi there!!! Welcome to the gang!!! Sounds like you are coping pretty well so far!!! Keep up the good work!!! I pretty much had to stay away from my cigarette smoking friends until I got over the hump! Funny thing is, my neighbors both smoke cigarette-sized cigars and they don't bother me a bit!! Go figure!! Anyways, read throught the program and milestones and the posts here on the site and you'll be better prepared to cope and increase your chance of successfully quitting this time!!! Keep a Positive Mental Attitude and remember NOPE!!! Not One Puff Ever!!! Hellokitty, Congratulations on 4 days smoke free and welcome to the SSC. Take a look through the program and work on the dynamic exercises. There is a lot of information to help you through your quit and keep you on a successful pathway. Keep cold water on hand for any craving that may arise and remember the four D's: - Drink Water - Delay - Distract - Deep Breath Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

Welcome Congrats on your decision to quit. A lot of great people/advice here for you on SCC. Post often, read constantly, and stick around is the only advice I have...it works. Good luck! Hi Glad you are here! Have you read up on the program here and filled up your tool pouch with all the helpful tools in the program? Try some sugar free candies, carrot sticks, pretzels. You would want to try some things that aren't going to be so sugary. Lots and loads of cold water and post, post, post and post some more. I've been told it only takes 3 days to get the nicotine out of your system. A craving never killed anyone but a cigarrette did, so do not smoke. Best of luck to you! I'm on day 3 of my fourth quit attempt of cigs. Surprisingly I haven't had any crazy cravings yet. I'm wearing the patch because that is the only form of NRT that actually helps me. I really think that I can do this. Eating candy and drinking water has been really helpful.
