Wow, thanks for all the feedback! Dreams from smoking to rootbeer floats! Cool. My dreams were a little worse, 2 nights ago i dreamed that my sister and nephew got murdered, and i let it happen. Last night i was kidnapped and taken across Canada. Oh, and by the way, i don't even use the patch - so i can only imagine how my dreams would be with the patch. I have chewed nicorette gum - 8 pcs so far. So i guess you could say i am doing it cold turkey.Well, today is Day 8. Cravings a a bit worse than normal tonight but i assure you NOTHING that i can't handle!! Thanks for the support and feedback. Happy Dreams to Everyone (including me!!) I found that when I leave my patch on I have extremely vivid dreams and make sure I remove it before I go to bed. I forgot one evening last week and had a really ... well let's say it was a doozie!! Thing is I can remember the details of these dreams much more than others. I used to also have really bad nightmares too, which is the main reason I remove the patch. Speaking of dreams... I had the funniest one last night. It's not one I've heard before. I just have to share. I've had the ones where you smoke in your dream & wake up feeling so guilty for having caved. I dreamt that I ran into my ex-husband who offered me one of his last 2 cigarettes. I proudly refused with no remorse but then bought him a new pack. I woke up feeling a sense of accomplishment for having refused the cigarette. What, though, was buying him a pack about? I hadn't quite decided if my sub-conscious mind was truly being nice or spiteful by contributing to his habit... :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,360 Amount Saved: $306.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 20 Mins: 59 Seconds: 7

Count your blessings. Thankfully, I never had the cough or goo, but I have known others that had horrendous coughing. omg Den, I must have been channeling you in my dreams last night...dreamt about root beer floats all night long, it seemed. I've heard of many people having vivid dreams, esp on chantix, but other people too. I had plenty and liked most of them...kind of miss them actually. Congrats on that beautiful week, Den! Isn't it great when they turn into just thoughts instead of craves? Den, your question about the dreams/nightmares reminded me that I'd been meaning to ask the same question for the last week or so. I don't usually remember my dreams, but since I quit I've been having the most amazingly vivid dreams. Only a couple of them involved smoking, fortunately. The others were generally pleasant, vivid, and often quite bizarre. Don't know if this is common - I haven't read about it being an effect of quitting anywhere. Den, I think you are going to be just fine. You remind me of my friend Unhooked, and she is one tough lady. Good job working thru the cravings. Are you wearing a patch? I remember my last quit, I wore the patch all night (because I didn't know any better), and I had the worst nightmares. If not, probably just your addiction battling with your mind, and your conscience is trying to win.... hang in there, maybe do some of that self talk like nonic talked about in another post right before you drift off so that you're at peace when you go to sleep....
