Hi All - still quit!! This is really a marvel to me. Had a wonderful time at my friend's daughter's wedding today and evening. Even enjoyed some wine sans nicotine without undue discomfort. I can do this!! Hallelujah! Hope everyone out there is having a good weekend. Thanks for the support. hi margo, welcome to the SSC!! Congrats on taking the plunge to a smoke free life. you're doing a great job...day 1 is behind you. don't smoke that first cigarette and you'll never have to do day 1 again. i am also on Chantix and i find it to be very helpful but i also have to do the work and be committed. this site has been a Godsend for me...i know i wouldn't be quit without all the support from the great people here. so, stay close...read lots and post often. we are all with you on this journey. :) ;) To each and every one of you that has written in with words of support: THANK YOU! I hope (expect) to have an impressive Mileage record after my name in a few weeks time and be able to return these favors to some other "newbies". To Keliza, especially, I am following right behind you on this new road. The view is terrific! I am really doing fine today - it is much better than yesterday. There are actually minutes at a time when you know what is out of my thoughts. I find this very encouraging. I am able to be busy with other things today, including a wedding this afternoon. To one and all, have a great day. Hey Margo - Good job! You're doing it the way everyone else here does it, including me. One day at a time - sometimes it's 15 minutes at a time. This absolutely can be done and you are doing it. Don't succumb to those nasty nic thoughts - that's all they are is just thoughts and you are much stronger that they are. Congratulations on day 1 - you'll do day 2 just fine. Stick with the folks on this board. It really does reaffirm my determination each time I read these posts. Congrats on day one, I also used Chantix and it really did help. Just remember N.O.P.E. and you will make it thru day 2. Margo, if you're on day 2 and you're excited at the prospect of remaining smoke-free, of developing a new life... then I'd have to say that your road ahead is looking pretty darned good. It's rarely easy, there are almost always some substantial challenges, especially in the first 6 months or so... but attitude is everything. If you're committed to "never say die", if you're going to do this, "no matter what"... then it's just a matter of time. You will be free. It's always about 1 day; this day. So focus on today and let the weeks, months and years take care of themselves. Welcome to the club! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 200 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,000 Amount Saved: $1,850.00 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 4 Mins: 38 Seconds: 34
