My gosh, this is the perfect post for me today. I am day 26 and feel like this is harder then when I first quit. Almost gave in yesterday. Cried to my husband last night and asked him to please be a little more patient. The mood swings and anger are almost unbearable for me right now. It is so much worst on the weekends. I seem to be good during the week. But the weekends are really tough! But I am still hanging in there, barely! This is the longest I have ever made it and I really don't want to go back!!!!!! I keep telling myself that if i go back, then I will have to endure this again and God I could not do that!! Iwarttobefree, hang in there and I will hang with you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 25 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 635 Amount Saved: $125 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 16 Mins: 36 Seconds: 46

Hi, befree, good to have you here. Like you, I lurked for a couple of weeks before starting to post much. For me, days 20-27 were actually the toughest. People talk about the 30-day pit, it's an, umm...interesting phenomenon. Frankly, it was the closest I came to losing my quit, but I seem to have worked my way through it, and you can, too. Keep at it! There's a bunch of us stumbling along right with you, it's nice to have company. Not me. I just jump out of bed, enthused and ready for a new day!! Not... :) On the other hand, my cough is pretty much gone, I can kinda/sorta smell again, I have a tad more energy and my chest isn't quite so sore. That's progress, and it tells me I'm heading in the right direction. Welcome, iwanttobefree! And if you really want to be... you will be. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 509 Amount Saved: $185 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 45 Seconds: 24

Iwanttobefree, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on 22 days! Most quitters do experience a case of the blues within the first month of their quit. Just as you said, it does pass. We are happy to see you are feeling better and rounding the corner on the 1 month mark. Time to start planning your reward! Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

hi i am not takeing any thing for my quit i went cold turkey,i think i must of subconsciously wanted to give up couple of months before my quite date i think i was testing my self to see how long i could go with out a smoke i would not have one as soon as i get up in the morning and for the last six months i wouldnt go and light up straight after a meal i would do the dishes tidy up then have one. it is not easy.sometimes the craveing is so strong i want to give in because i get so up tight and irritable but i keep fighting it away the good thing is i am not haveing as many big craveings as i was at the beggining of my quit. Congratulations in your decision to be Free Welcome to the SSC iwanttobefree... Are you using some aid to help in your quit? You've been with with us 3 weeks. So I'm sure you've prepared for this quit. Sometimes the the beginning Quitter who seems to be the "wishy-washy quitter" winds up being the strongest quitter in the group! WE...AT THE SSC...KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!! AND WE DON'T CARE WHAT EVERY OTHER OUTSIDER THINKS!! This site was the closing statement to my quit...I am a Non-Smoker. I don't care if my hubby doesn't want to quit...it was his choice to start in the first place and no one twisted my arm to start either. (I think he is secretly feeling ashamed right now...because he is so defensive when I mention the stinch he carries back inside on his clothes after a smoke break outside) Eventually the newness of your quit will wear off...to your friends and family...and it will be like they never knew you smoked in the first place, so don't worry if they forget your accomplishment. We won't forget here! auntdeb :) ps. Remember your Quit Date...it is special and plan a reward when you have reached certain important time Goals ...like the first month or 6 months etc.......look forward to something special for YOU! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 83 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,169 Amount Saved: $394.25 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 11 Mins: 22 Seconds: 33
