That's wonderful! I can relate as I have a problem with driving, too! I have a "spot" on one road that I hate because I had an attack there months ago! I had to go past there yesterday on a delivery and although I obsessed a bit on the way there, nothing happened and I was fine! I want to be free of these self-imposed limits! I, too, find that the more anxy I am, the slower I drive. Back when my problem was really bad I was backing up traffic everywhere. Some of my cop friends hated to get behind me for that reason, they said I was the slowest red Camaro that they had ever seen! They would think that I was going slow because a cop was behind me, and then they would hit their blue lights once, so I would know that it was a cop that I knew and maybe I would speed up! This would make me laugh, and I could punch it and break the speed limit with a cop on my butt! Anx is so wierd, but it can be beaten! Congrats to you, doesn't it feel good to do something that you were so afraid of???? Now you will have more confidence to try to do some other scary things! You are on the right track and I'm so happy for you!

Thanks Danielle. You know, because I'd been battling with this piece of road particularly for over a year now, I was convinced that my fears are real. No matter how I challenged the thoughts and behaviour, I just was so frightened to drive down there. NOw that I KNOW that those fears are just nonsense, I hope I can convince myself everytime that it is just that and that I don't have to pay attention to them. I must say, the panic programme is absolutely amazing. When I joined last year in Oct/Nov, I had such a bad setback - I thought that I'd never drive again.

That's absolutely terrific Bianca. Good for you! Doesn't it just feel awesome when we confront our fears and walk right through them to the other side huh? The stronger the fear, the more pride we feel after we've confronted it! Super job! Danielle

Hi Everyone A number of weeks ago I posted a message about how I battle to drive down a certain highway in the afternoons going home. Well, like all of you suggested, I kept on trying, crying, driving well below the speed limit, almost freeking out and yesterday was AMAZING! I did it at the maximum allowed speed without even noticing it. Normally I get so upset if there are big vehicles behind me, I just noticed as a matter of by-the-way, that a huge 22 metre truck was behind me, no fear, no panic, it was absolutely awesome. Well, now I guess I must start working on some of the other goals which, by merely thinking of them, give me a knot on the stomach. Bye now
