Hi Michelle, My name is Lisa and I am new here as well. I just wanted to say that I am on the same medication and dose as you are. How is it working for you? Lisa

Hello Mich, Welcome to the Panic Center. You have come to the right place. There are many people on the site who are living with and beating panic/anxiety. Be sure to make use of the 'tools' on the left of your screen and the support group. We are here to help. Susanne

Welcome Mich, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact Susanne, Melanie or me at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialists for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. You also have a great team of online people for amazing support. Remember, we are here to help. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie

I find as i get older...28 now, with one kid and a wife, i am more anxious in crowds and social situations. if it wasn't for my wife, i'd probably stay in all the time. we don't have many friends...just hand out with family. so, maybe i've conditioned mydelf to act feel this way.

Hi Michelle, Welcome to the site...nice to meet you! I have heard "you'll have to be on medication for the rest of your life" so often, it isn't even funny. I don't believe it for a minute. I KNOW in my heart that with hard work, and perseverance and a plan (such as this program), I can learn to UNLEARN my fears and phobias, one at a time. There are also several people on this site (yours truly included) who have social phobia as well and will support you along the way. Peace out, Danielle

Hi! I am new here. My name is Michelle and I am 33 years old and a mother of two little boys. I have bee diagnosed as Social Anxiety Disorder. I have always been a shy person especially when I am by myself. The older I get the worse it gets. Up until I started taking Lorazepam in certain situations, I'd have panic attacks where my heart would just race, my face would turn bright red, I would start to sweat, my legs with feel tingly, etc. This would happen to me on one on one interactions with people. I have been on Lorazepam for 4 years now at 1mg dose which is a very small dose, however, I don't wish to be on this for the rest of my life. I don't ever want my kids to see me in that kind of a situation. Is there a way of getting over Social anxiety and not have to take anxiety pills. I was told by my pshyc. that it will only get worse and I would stay on Lorazepam for the rest of my life???? I am glad I found this site!
