Hi there, Good decision to quit but I have an advice for you. Don't say I'll TRY to quit. When I tell you I will try to bake pancakes then you know I had to go and get some chinees food. When you try, you tell yourself you can fail. So what you need to do is: make a desicion and stick to it no matter what. Knowing that, the quit will be easier. Good luck, Dutch xxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 364 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,923 Amount Saved: 1073.8 Life Gained: Days: 50 Hrs: 15 Mins: 47 Seconds: 26

Hi Carpepax Hope you are reading the posts past and present, gearing up for the quit using the tools to the left and making a solemn committment to yourself in this quit. Mental Image of being a Non-smoker, resolving to admit you are an addict and you cannot take one puff ever again! Sounds rather abrupt?...I have come to the conclusion...this is exactly what it takes. I found the magic pill to help me. If you read some past posts...you'll discover my secret and many others. welcome...hang in there and post often auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 88 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,431 Amount Saved: $418 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 4 Mins: 37 Seconds: 44

Good Afternoon, Fresh Start! Good for you. This is the best place to come to for help, support and advice. Good luck on your quit. Let us know how we can help. Can't tell you how many fresh starts I have had. But this is my last time. I have made 30 days this time and there is no going back. If we all stick together we can do this together. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 739 Amount Saved: $145 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 6 Seconds: 38

Don't worry about your past failures. It happens to most of us. Your non-smoking future looks great!!! Glad you're here, stick around, the people on this board are terrific support. They got me through a month. Just shout out if you need help. And shout out before you pick one of those killers up. BTW, most libraries these days have internet connections. That might help you to log on Saturday if you need to. I think I remember you, too. My hubby and I quit May 23. I slipped, had a name change and gained some weight, so you probably don't recognise me! :8|: Glad you have joined us again. Stick close by and remember NOPE!!! Hi Carpepax, I can hear your determination to quit and you can do this. Look over some of the other posts to help you out this weekend and things you can do for yourself. Just think of the money you'll save and can buy a computer for your home and a longer life to enjoy it!!! I used about 3 boxes of tissues for the tears, pillows to punch, bags of twizzlers and carrots etc... I know it's hard but many people here have quit and going strong. I didn't think I could make it one day and I'm at 14 days smoke free after 26 years at a pack and a half. We're here for you, stay strong and let us know how you are on Monday. Best wishes!!
