Jaybird - I'm afraid that galeh is right...sometimes young people don't recognize the importance of acknowledging a gift. I don't have children but when my nieces and nephews were little grandma and I were an extremely important part of their world. Now they are all growing up. While we still have a special place, their lives a full with friends, jobs, school, sports, boyfriends/girlfriends, etc.
I'm so sorry that you were hurt. Hopefully your son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren will recognize that they have hurt your feelings.
In the meantime, when we are quitting the hurts, slights, etc seem to have a bigger emotional impact. Sometimes we cry, whine, holler more than usual.
Hope you feel better soon.
