Hey there Aunt Deb & Anna! Thank you so much for your nice posts! Aunt Deb: Thank you so much for your support and praise to me! ;) I have apologized to my friends for my grouchiness..It is getting better. I am still having craves, but not as badly as the other day. Now I feel it coming on and I stop, close my eyes and breath for a minute until it passes. I can't seem to drink plain water so I bought some of those "Instant Tea's" (no name brand) that you add to regular bottled water and shake it up. It helps A LOT! I drink it much easier and much more of it to help flush out the nasty nicotine. So, just a message to the few that can't drink plain water like me, those instant drinks that you add to bottled water and shake reall help! You get the water you need and a little flavor along with it! Thanks again for your support Aunt Deb, it is really appreciated!! xxooxx Anna Wow!! It really is a small world!! I am in Hamilton County in East Price Hill. The Lodge is wonderful, and with it being a Smoke Free Environment it makes it even better! I didn't miss the thoughts of "Where can I go to smoke? When can I take a minute to find a place to smoke? If I go smoke now I won't get the chance to smoke later. Etc., etc... It was so nice to be able to swim with the family and not have to worry about that nasty nicodemon! Hello everyone and thank you so much for your kind responses to my post! SammiJoFL Thank you so much for your support and showing your craving chart. Today my cravings aren't nearly as bad as they were yesterday, so yes, I agree with what you said 100%! I guess it is just easier to go ahead and go through one good withdrawal at once instead of little ones everyday. I feel better today for sure! I don't know how to show my quit meter on here, but if you could see it, you can tell that my cravings are slowing going down, at least until I hit triggers. That is a daily challenge that I will get past with time. Thank you so much for sharing! Katy Yes, I am on my way to a complete quit! I really want it and I will make myself do it. I will get past my cravings, get over my triggers and be 100% smoke free! ;) I do have the commit's in case of an emergency, and only for an emergency, but I WILL NOT SMOKE! Thank you for your kind support as well!! Anna Cool if we are neighbors!! Great Wolf Lodge has several locations, are you near the one in Mason? Ok... loving the quit meter!! Hello Everyone!! Tuesday, 2/13, I went with my Husband and kids to a place here called "Great Wolf Lodge". It is an indoor water park with a lodge hotel attached - very neat. The thing that caught my eye the most when I walked in was a nice big sign at the entrance that said "Great Wolf Lodge is a SMOKE-FREE Environment!" Boy, did that ever set my mind at ease. It is so nice to not have to worry about temptations. Anyway, after a day of swimming we went back to our suite and I noticed that my patch was coming loose. So, I just went ahead and took it off. I haven't had one on since. Yesterday was ok, but today was a challenge. I came back to work today and the stress being my trigger started on me. Before I would just rub the patch and breath, but today I didn't have that luxury. It was a hard one!! I got up, walked around, breathed deep, went outside in the 20 degree weather, walked around the warehouse, went to the lunchroom and got some water, etc., etc. I have been debating whether or not I should even put the patch back on. I am thinking no, just fight my way through the cravings. Some days are less stressful than others, so that is what makes me wonder. I do have some lozenges in my desk that were given to me a few weeks ago. I did try one before, oh, it tasted terrible to me. I don't think I could use them. I have just been chewing gum and sucking on hard candy all day to help me through. I guess the point is, I made it for 2 days without any type of NRT! I am a little proud of myself, but I am grumpy. Others noticed today how grumpy I truly was. I explained the situation and apologized. What else can you do? Anyway, I hope that everyone is having a wonderful smoke free day! ***Loving the stats*** Stay Strong! ~PEACE~ Shortcake My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 433 Amount Saved: $94.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 50 Seconds: 44

Hi Danielle! Thank you for your support. The last time that I quit and failed I used the patch all the way through the 8 week program, and then turned around and failed. So! I decided to go ahead and try cold turkey this time once I got past the actual habits other than the nicotine. The sooner all of the nicotine is out of my system, the better! So far so good!! ;) Stay Strong! ~PEACE~ Shortcake My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 22 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 452 Amount Saved: $99 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 40 Seconds: 14

Good for you getting that nasty nic out of your body. I quit cold turkey, it worked for me. I'm sure everyone is different though! Keep flushing it out with water too! Same lodge - I am in Butler County. Small world, huh! Hi Shortcake! I took off my patch on my 16th day, I think it was. I had been reading about how the NRT helps one to "put off" the nicotine withdrawal period and suddenly decided that I didn't want to put it off for another moment! I wanted to get it DONE AND OVER WITH! So I did it, and a few days later, I printed out my cravings chart... here's what it looked like: My cravings peaked the day I ripped that patch off, but 72 hours later they were back down where they were before I did it. So -- hang in there! You CAN do it and I know this because you ARE!! (On the other hand, if it becomes an emergency, grab a patch, okay, not a cigarette!) Best wishes for your quit!
