Hey 2tone, That's right, get real mad! That's what I did, in fact so mad at this horrendous habit that I reset my quit date by one week. (original date was Jan.1/07) I thought, I've got all my tools in place and no time like the present - to give myself the present of a smoke free life! So I quit yesterday :) Stay *blinking* mad at the nicodemon and move forward with everything you've got. We're all stronger than we ever thought. I mean look at some of these great stats by the other member's.. totally awesome :) Eva My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 27 Amount Saved: $9 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 33 Seconds: 34

Hi everyone - I'm starting my first week today mad as hell. Mad at myself for letting this go on this long. I will never light another smoke for the rest of my life, but what took me so long? As I sit here on my first day drinking coffee, I have no cravings, no withdrawl symptoms (yet). I feel good, but ticked off. I'm going to try to keep a journal of the weeks to come, but I think that they are going to be mostly uneventful. I'm not anticipating wild cravings or withdrawls. I know that smoking is not an option for me. I'm done. I'm now an ex-smoker. Smoking is disgusting and it WAS killing me! 2tone :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Way to go, 2tone! Harness that anger and use it -- it's an approach that I've found has worked for me. Once I got mad -- at myself mostly -- but at the nicodemon, at the tobacco industry, at the very notion that I had spent 35 years enslaved to such a disgusting activity, THEN I was able to really quit. You are doing awesome -- keep up the good work. You're worth it. Kick that nicodemon to the curb and beyond. And keep the faith! Good Morning 2tone! Congratulations on your decision to take back your life from the enslavement of smoking! Get ticked off and refuse to let this aweful addiction control you any longer. You can do it. Take some deep breaths, use the information and support of these boards to get you through the tough times, and don't ever give up on yourself. You are fighting for your life and it is sooooo worth it. 2tone, A journal is a great asset to have during your quit. You can look back and see where your craves were at the highest and what triggers you need to avoid! Take the time to relax yourself. You are mad at the nicodemon, but he won't get to you if you push him away and close the door! Make a list of activities to keep you occupied and even try a new hobby. This will keep your mind off of the nicodemon and you will begin to enjoy yourself :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
