Hello Mary,
You are doing the right thing by coming here. Firstly, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. But know, he is in a better place. Free from the suffering.
Secondly, I CONGRATULATE you on 45 successful days!! That is a huge accomplishment!
I have some questions for you.
1. Have you completed the tools on your left yet? If not, it is very important. Even at 45 days!
2. Have you rewarded yourself? Doing so on a regular basis is needed, and will help keep you from dwelling on those old memories of happiness while smoking.
Now that you have a computer, you can search endlessly. I personally found it helpful to search for smoking addiction. I read everything I could get my hands on to know about my addiction. I also found pictures of what smoking can do. One in perticular stood out for me because it was a young woman (as I).
The knowledge helped me tremendously. I also read old posts for days! There is so much information out there, you just need to search for it!
Lastly, I would recommend you at least talk to your doctor. Tell him exactly how you feel. I finally did at 7 months quit, and am finally feeling better! I just kept waiting for it to go away, but it just kept getting worse. I am on medication now, and day by day feeling my spirits lifted!
I wish you the best with your quit! And promise to come here first if you feel you will lose your quit. Wait for 5 replies.
