Hi, I've been reading the threads, I've been quit now for 11 days, shouldn't I be coughing up some stuff from my lungs? Nothing is happening at all. I smoke pretty heavy for 39 years. Can anyone tell me what to expect within the next month or so. I read that withing 2 weeks I should be coughing up stuff is that true. Beb, Smoked for 30 years+ and hardly coughed anything up. Was almost looking forward to that part of the quit Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 136 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,099 Amount Saved: 1020 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 18 Mins: 47 Seconds: 39

Hi Beb, Great job on your 11 days. Just wanted to let you know that me & my husband never had the "cough" with the crud. Thank goodness...... of course I really did not have a cough when I smoked, I just cleared my throat alot. Both annoying things tho ! Keep up the great quit and don't worry about everyone else, just what's happening with you! Hi Beb and well done so far. I smoked for 35 years and did not cough up very much crud, I do still cough now sometimes and still no crud. I wouldn't worry about it, don't think it is mandatory tho. on 11 days - Fantastic P.S. No crud here Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... I didn't coughed up anything, i put it down to the fact that i exercised regularely before i stopped smoking. My breathing or fitness didn't change either after i stopped smoking so i guess healthy lungs have no crud.. Smoker or non-smoker - exercise is good !.
