I have been smoke free for 5 days, I have never gone 5 days w/o a smoke. I still have many cravings, but they do pass. The worst time of the day is late afternoon. I'd love to have a glass of wine instead, not sure I want to do that yet. I love not smelling like an ashtray!! This site has already helped me a couple times and look forward to making a few friends. It's nice to have a place to vent and compare experiences! Hey Miagi! My third day was the worst (so far), I did go to a hypnotist (seminar), last Thursday, it seems to be making it a bit easier. I have tried to quit before....I am drinking tons of water and taking lots of deep breaths, listening to my cd. Good Luck! HI, Congrats on 5 days, thats great. I too am new, only 3 days under my belt but it seems to be getting harder just like all times before. I've made it 3 days before but never more than that. I also know several people who have went months only to go back. How do we keep this from happening to us? Really need help! Welcome Ter - You are doing great! Miagi...you have made it through day 3, just keep up one day at a time. I've only tried once before and I lasted for 2 days....it skeered me so much I didn't try again for another 17 years. This site has made all the difference in the world (probably because I need to vent and whine and because I honestly had no idea what I had gotten myself into or how to deal with it) The Members and Moderators have helped me each step of the way. I think it's probably easy for some long time quitters to forget how hard it was to quit and, for awhile, we will still have to deal with cravings. I think we have to remember our survival tools when those moments hit....and if you listen to long-time quitters like Mr. Ed, those moments because fewer and fewer. Good luck and welcome to both of you! Windy P.S. I was a slow learner, but did find the workbook tools very helpful once I could concentrate long enough to use them! Hi ter724 and a warm welcome! You're doing beautifully!! Cravings absolutely DO pass -and the less power we give them, the less power they have :) Stay close to this site and take some time to go back and read old posts... You can build a very powerful toolbox of coping skills here that will support a very strong, focused Quit now and in the future... Post often and let us know how you're doing! Five days looks brilliant on YOU!!
