Putting the breaks on relapse

Penguin, I hope you're still around...I didn't see your post before. I am in agreement with cybrduke. In the extreme long term...1 year, 5 years, 10 years from now...those slips won't mean anything. The problem here is that we are so involved in our quits hour to hour, day to day, that a few days seems like an eternity. But when we acknowledge what we did, we immediately jump back on the wagon, and we have the clarity of mind to know why we stumbled, I don't see a reason to beat ourselves up. There is no earthly reason to wallow in guilt. You have not lost that 115 days. You did not smoke for 115 days. And if you don't smoke today, that's 116. I don't think you need any lectures.
