Hey Martha! Thanks for the direction to the brown crud thread. I'm going to read through it as soon as I finish posting this. That is cool to hear that not everyone experiences this stage. I didn't know that. 651 smoke free days, huh? Wow ... that is so wonderful! Good for you and yours! __________________________ Hi Nascarfan ... I'm off to pour myself some more ice water! I've been breathing easier. When I smoked, I'd wake up in the morning with my chest hurting. Since I have quit, I have not had that problem until today. I also read that I will start coughing stuff up. I have experienced this a little, but not as much as I thought I would. I am anxious for my body to start expelling all the junk I have put into it. Is there any I can take to help cleanse my system? Maybe something herbal. I am trying to drink lots of water. I am just anxious to heal and would like to do anything to speed the process of getting well. X-Smoker, You've got a great attitude and that is the biggest factor in success. Great job on those 5 days! I think the magic elixir is a TON of water. I'm not sure about the herbal stuff but I'm sure someone who does will answer shortly. There is a thread called BROWN CRUD! that will probably offer more on this issue than you ever wanted to know. But just a head's up - not everyone has the coughing. I never did and I too was kinda looking forward to it.
