Thanks so much islandgirl for your (welcome)post!Iwas thinking about pushing my quit date to 6/30/06 so I could get my degree on the program before I quit .(Just a little humor)Anyway I took your great advice & printed my post so Ican refer to them during the rough times, you know what I mean!I was wondering about your name(islandgirl) but I wont invade your privacy.But I was Navy brat,it`s so happen Iwas born in Bermuda. Hi BermudaKid! Congrats on your decision to quit! Before you start try to read *Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking. He suggests you don't use the patches (which I did), but the main reason for reading it is because it lays bare the myth that smoking is in any way a pleasure and it certainly helped me during the early days of my quit When you start your quit - Use the SSC board to the full. Post WHENEVER you need help. Try to encourage others - this creates a positive buzz all round Reward yourself when you reach a significant milestone - I suggest each day for the first 2 weeks! HI Bermuda - Maybe think about moving that quit date up??? LOL!! Really, you are doing a great thing by preparing yourself - don't overthink it but have all the aids handy. A good thing I found was to print out the posts that "speak" to you and start a journal with them in there. That way you can refer back to them when you need to.
