thanks Danielle I didn't know if I was doing something wrong. That made me feel better knowing I wasn't bumping someone off that is in crisis.

Hi Bear, Sorry to hear you've been in a bad space lately. I know the VT shooting has impacted everyone in some way or another. I fear everyday when I send my daughter off to school and more so now after this. I could go on and on about this but that would require another site. You should take Josie's advise and start a new topic. The weather here has been a bummer as well. Cloudy, damp chilly and I ended up with strep throat and chest congestion so now I'm on antibiotics. Great way to celebrate 30 days huh? I hope you didn't celebrate my 30 too much!! You'll be there in 2 more days and I'm so proud of you!!! I tried to IM you the other day and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I'll try again this weekend. I hope everyone is doing well and Sunshine had great advise "don't forget to post when your in this state of mind" we are all in this together and I'm with Tutti on the promise to go through this day without smoking!!! I'm going to try to get some sleep. It's been a few days of tossing and turning trying to get rid of this fever hopefully with the antibiotics I can get some sleep. Take care and I'll talk to you soon!!:) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,183 Amount Saved: $363 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 5 Mins: 1 Seconds: 50

still here

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I have been going through my typical B.S. in the last 2 days. I had a great time with Mom at the Casino and not once wanted to smoke. Then boyfriend came home early and he has some addiction and honesty issues. Anyway just dissapointed and didn't have much to say so just wanted to let you all know I haven't smoked, I'm still reading even if I don't have much to say I'm still here and not letting him or anyone bring me to the point of smoking. Trust me if it gets to that point you will be the first to hear from me.I realize those morning anxiety attacks have alot to do with him. Now the 15th is his moving out day lets see I heard that before anyway Have a great day, and don't smoke!!! Hi Bear I'm so proud of your quit!!! You sound so much happier even though your birds are annoying the landlady.. As for your previous question about addictive personality. I have heard once an addict always an addict, which is why we have to teach ourselves not to put ourselves in places or situations that can trigger us to go back to our old ways. Many people say "oh he or she will never change" That's total Bull. People do change if they really want to. Therapy helps to find out why we need to use drugs, drink, or even smoke etc... Most of the time it is to fill a void other times it starts with doing these things to make us feel better after something has happened in our lives and we used it to mask our feelings and after the situation past we realize it felt good and continue to turn to that choice of whatever to make us feel good. I'll use my smoking as an example. I started to catch that high with smoking after arguing with my parents as a kid to numb out. After a little while I no longer got that first (buzz) but kept smoking trying to get it and eventually became addicted. I reached for a smoke when I was happy, sad, angry, after eating, after sex. etc.....I know for me I have a very addictive personality and have quit sucessfully on many things and smoking is the last addiction for me. I've gone the therapy route and I found out alot about myself and why I become addicted to many things so it does help. There's nothing to lose about improving ones self so... See there's one more addiction I never know when to clamp up LOL Anyway glad to see your still here and I look forward to reading your post it brightens my day!!! Back for Round 3

Hi Carpepax, I can hear your determination to quit and you can do this. Look over some of the other posts to help you out this weekend and things you can do for yourself. Just think of the money you'll save and can buy a computer for your home and a longer life to enjoy it!!! I used about 3 boxes of tissues for the tears, pillows to punch, bags of twizzlers and carrots etc... I know it's hard but many people here have quit and going strong. I didn't think I could make it one day and I'm at 14 days smoke free after 26 years at a pack and a half. We're here for you, stay strong and let us know how you are on Monday. Best wishes!! Hey driver I'm not having a good day so I'll keep it short, I'm using the patch at 21mg and tomorrow I go to 14mg. Don't wear it for about 2 hours before going to bed or it'll give you weird dreams or keep you up all night. I had headaches for the first few days and it did go away.I really wish I still had my Harley cause I could use a long hard ride right now to clear the mind!! Good thing I'm not in a rig right now or it would be road rage. I just put up a post and going for a walk I'll catch up later if I don't get in trouble. Hi Bear how are you making out with the patches? I have to tape mine on because it doesn't stay on too well. Are you still getting the headaches? I survived yesterday and didn't smoke. Instead I had too many beers at a local club and hurting today. At least I didn't do anything stupid as angry as I was yesterday. Thanks for the advise and that hot bath sounds great!!! Thanks for the advise on the patch I'm using medical tape to keep the patch on. I actually haven't put one on yesterday or today to see how I do without it and so far so good. Bear,I have to congratulate you on how well you are doing. You need to read back from day one and see how far you have come and a great inspiration to many of us. Your advise has also helped just knowing I have the support of you and everyone else here has been a comfort. I could do without the hangover:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 615 Amount Saved: $187 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 5 Seconds: 46

Hi Bear, I actually put a patch on. I brought it with me just in case and I started getting stressed at work. Oh well I gave it a shot. I should've tried Phil's suggestion LOL. I'm sure it works to keep the patch on especially since I sit most of the day but the arm works fine. So you didn't say how are you feeling with the patch. Hopefully better today. Who knows maybe when I celebrate 6 months I'll take a trip and visit. I might just have a Harley then. I'm looking at a couple of bikes now. There's nothing like it and it would be great to go for a ride and not have to worry about smoking!! It'll be at least 4 more years before I can get back in a rig. I pretty much decided to wait til my daughter is older. She's old enough to take care of herself but old enough to get in a lot of trouble. Some day I can dream....
