Meds.

Cat, This is for the new members: You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. Therefore, a better assessment of the situation can be made. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Josie

Driving and panic

Jenk and Dona, Start with something small. I know if I'm already in a panic getting into a car will not help me at all. Try a few test runs with someone in the car with you, then alone,(remember you don't have to leave the drive way). Then try around the block, then down the street. Do these at any pace you feel comfortable with. Have you tried relaxation techniques? What about breathing techniques? Before your drive, prepare by reducing your anxiety level as much as you can. A hot bath, some soothing music, a warm beverage can help. You can also find how helpful it is to use breathing techniques to help you deal with your panic and anxiety. The Panic Program can help you understand more and may help you go about challenging your thoughts. Keep up the good work you both doing excellent. Hope this helps! Josie

Driving where there is no shoulder

PhidlDD, Perhaps you could try relaxation and breathing techniques. Before you get into the car try a warm bath, or listening to soft music. Whatever relaxes you, is worth a try. Also you can pull a dry run. This indicates that when you get into the car, you will not go anywhere yet. Turn on the car, then turn it off. Next step is reversing out of the driveway and then back again. With each step you will make yourself go a little further. Do these exercises at your own pace and what make you comfortable. Hope this helps, Josie
