Panic on the highway

Hi Rosey, Welcome to the site! You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Be sure to post often and let us know how everything is going. You will find lots of information and support on this site. Others will be responding to your questions soon. Vivid Dreams and Zoloft

Hi MaryJane, Regarding your concern about the Zoloft dosage, please keep in mind that everyone is an individual and will be on different dosages. From your posting it sounds like you are questioning your doctor - if you are unsure of their actions, your pharmacist can be a really great resource to find the information you are looking for. Then you could go back to your doctor with the pharmacists' findings if you still had any concerns about the doctor's prescribed dosage. Please keep us posted. Where to Strart/Doctor

Hi, I just wanted to make a suggestion for those of you who are hesitant to discuss your anxiety symptoms with your doctor. Please remember that we have tools on this site designed specifically for that purpose i.e. the anxiety test which can be found to the right of the screen. These are not meant to be used for diagnosis but you can print out the findings and show them to your doctor. This can be a great way to introduce the symptoms you have been experiencing. holding breath

Hi child, You may find some help from deep breathing exercises when this occurs. Learning how to do deep breathing exercises is very important. Not only does it keep your blood well-oxygenated, it helps to clear your thinking too, thereby reducing stress. Surprisingly, many of us have a hard time doing breathing exercies correctly and do not fill thier lungs to their full capacity. It does however get easier with practice. -you can sit, lie or stand, keep your back straight -keep one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen -visualize your lungs filling with air as you inhale, you should feel your shoulders move up as your chest rises and fills with air -exhale through your mouth by blowing gently -remember to keep your facial muscles relaxed Everyone is an individual and as such may need to vary the duration and frequency of this technique. Keep us posted with your progress, we look forward to hearing from you soon. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team Reference: C. Ren Kneisl, Psychiatric Nursing.

Medication

Hi Mark, Great to hear that you are going to be seeing your doctor soon. Just a reminder about the tools available on this site if you are unsure about where to start with explaining your symptoms to your doctor. For example you may find it useful to do the anxiety test, print it out, and bring it with you to your upcoming doctor's appointment. Keep us posted. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
