Thinking about Starting again, due to spouse is.

I have not had a single puff in 18 days. I got off the lozenges 12 days ago. But, I am thinking about starting again because my spouse is a smoker and when she lights up in the bedroom in the middle of night and in the morning, it is very hard for me. The smell is very powerful. The ashtray in the bathroom is also driving me nuts, as I used to smoke a lot in the bathroom and bedroom. I am getting tired of fighting it and when your spouse is smoking, it is very tiring. I figure I will just quit again when she quits. She said she will be quitting soon, so I figure, might as well smoke instead of having to fight it everyday when she lights up, and then quit again when she quits. What do you think? I feel like I will be able to quit again when she does. I have never made this far before and I don't want to start again, but every night, she lights one a few times, and in the bedroom, and in the morning, plus the ashtray in the bathroom, and I keep having to fight it more than I should have to, but I know she won't stop until she decides to quit. Very Frustrating. Don't know what to do?.............. It is working!

That's great Lainey! Something that is also tough to do and keep up. I know, I weighted 238 lbs at one point and I now weigh 150 lbs and keep it there. I never used WW, but the combined things you are doing, weight training, (walking or arobics, or biking), and proper dieting and eating habits work wonders. Feels great! Thinking about Starting again, due to spouse is.

Thanks for everyone's support. I have not taken even one puff. N.O.P.E. - my wife last night and this morning when out of the bedroom to light her smoke. I did not say anything to her about it, she did this on her own. If I had said something, as a smoker, she would have defended her right to light up where she pleases. Which I would have done too. Smokers are that way, because we feel quilty for smoking. But, for some reason, all on her own, when she woke up in the middle of night and in the morning, she went out of the bedroom to light her smoke. so,all I did was say thanks for doing that and said I appreciate her noticing things like that. So, hopefully from now on, she will keep doing that, and maybe even get rid of that bathroom ashtray. If she does even those two things it will help me a lot. It is 20 days now, and this site with everyone has really helped me stay smoke free, and I want to continue that, hopefully the hard days are behind me now. Free bird, at 40 days, you are zen and calm, and smoke free! I don't think I have been too bad to live with the past 20 days. I tried to recognize that I would be a little short fused, and tried to keep calm. It was just as hard at work as it was at home. I only took the lozenges for four days, and after I stopped the lozenges, the first two days after, I thought I was wound pretty tight. Although, my wife could view things differently. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 400 Amount Saved: $176.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 8 Mins: 40 Seconds: 20

That's true Lainey, I don't think I know any smoker that doesn't think they should quit. Price and Health alone is enough. Date night is a good idea kelly, we are overdue. Should I go to the patch?

Wish I could see everyone craving's graphs - I used thrive lozenges when I stopped for a week. Went off the lozenges right after that, so it has been 12 days of cold turkey, and 20 days total. Just like they say, It is 72 hours physically, so I say, don't go on the patch. Things will calm down. Use the smokers help line and talk to one of them. Anytime you get mad, and you want to blow off steam, call them and blow off all of the steam you want. They know it is going to happen, and they want you to yell at them instead of our own family. Yell here all you want too. People are great here. Blow off all of the steam, here or call the line, but don't go on patch, you can do this and it will get better.
