Losing it.

goofy My heart goes out to you...I understand the hell you are going through at this moment and wish that there were an easy path to follow. Sadly there is no single route through this that will afford comfort at every turn. However, never forget that a path does exist. A great deal of the road map is already written in your very own soul, all you need do is read it with clarity, hope and confidence. I would suggest to you that you are not losing it...Far from it, you are in fact "getting it"...What ever spark of the imagination that moved you forward on this quest is the seed of your ultimate salvation from the chains and bonds of nicotine addiction...Make no mistake, the first premise that you must internalize is that you and I are addicts. Although I understand how difficult it must be to move down this road while your partner chooses another, the fact remains that your choice is yours and what ever obstacles come, must be met with resolve and inner confidence. The ability to choose is the key to freedom and must be seen as the most intimate and wonderful aspect of being a human being. I do hesitate in telling you these things as in truth I have not had to do this while living with someone who has not chosen to do so. My choice is for a much more solitary life, but I do maintain that regardless of personal circumstance, the goal, the temptations and the ultimate victory remain the same. There are others who have overcome circumstances similar to yours, listen to their advice. It is most important however, that you heed your own counsel. There is a reason that you have decided to accomplish this task, list those reasons, make them resonate in your consciousness with a singular clarity that becomes a sort of mantra of survival. If you do this and if you take action by drinking water until you are literally swimming, exercise your body and slowly free your mind from the mistaken assumption that you must smoke, a few months from now you will wonder what all the fuss was about and why you did not do this sooner. I promise you that THIS CAN BE DONE...Demons (such as the ash tray in the bathroom) have no strength except that which we give them out of our own free will... Part of this journey is physical, but for me the bulk of it has been a mental game...Take heart in the knowledge that you are doing the best thing that you can do for yourself and ironically for those who love you in this world...Choose well, you are at this moment in time writing the footnotes for your future health and well being... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 313 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,390 Amount Saved: $3,286.50 Life Gained: Days: 57 Hrs: 2 Mins: 48 Seconds: 45

1000 DAYS FOR GEORGIE !!!

Georgie 1000 days is more than impressive, but what might be even more striking is the 20,000 cigarettes that you did not smoke...Lets see if we figure an average of 5 minutes per cig, that works out to about 100,000 minutes which makes 1667 hours divided by 24 hours per day makes it about 70 days that you would have invested in smoking cigarettes...That is a little more than two full months...I'll bet you had much better things to do with that time than ingesting chemicals...Congratulations and thanks for coming by to give us all a measure of hope that this can be done... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 313 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,390 Amount Saved: $3,286.50 Life Gained: Days: 57 Hrs: 3 Mins: 48 Seconds: 33
