Cruise??? Did I hear Steve is taking us all on a cruise??? Isn't he such a great guy?? *giggle*
Thank you all for your suggestions...I've made to day 7 today and feeling pretty good actually. Kinda surprised. But I still have some awful coughing going on this morning. Worse than other mornings. I hope it's just the worse before the calm with the clearing up thing. I still get some urges but I've managed to overcome them with some deep breathing like suggested and I've been drinking lots of cold water and herbal tea, rather than coffee and pop (or soda depending on where your from :) ).
Jim, I think most of the people I've met here are all pretty great people. I'd be honored to be called friend by the people in here and maybe have some life long friends, as you say.

Belle I'm so sorry about your loss...but when one door closes another one opens. BUT!!! Look at the test you passed!!! I'm so proud of you and I don't even know you! Look at the strength you have in yourself. This will be a tough time for you I'm sure. When my hubby's place cut back things were tough, but he got another job after 3 months that he LOVES!!! I've never seen him so happy in his job...so I'll pray that's what will be in store for you girl.

let's be honest, most of us probably all did the same thing hon. Sometimes I thought that the guilt I felt after "buying just one more pack" was the worse thing. Recently though I just "had it" with all the quitting, lying to myself and others and all the other things we do when we are addicted to these things. Know that here you have all the help and support you need, but like Bonnie said understand WHY you want to quit. You may even just have a "had it" day and quit. Don't be down on yourself for trying and failing....it's when you fail and don't try again that's the failure. I know you said you want to set your quit day for tomorrow, well just keep in touch....drink lots of icy cold water, take deep breaths. Are you using any meds or patches? If not you might want to consider them. I truly wish you luck...I know you will do it. There is many wiser people here who have quit longer than me, heed their advice, it's good advice. And use us as a back up. Some one told me that before I lit up come in here and post for help and then wait for 5-10 replys before lighting up.
regardless, good luck and don't be too harsh on yourself. Tomorrow is a new day.
