I have been smoking for the last year and a half . I started smoking right after I have given birth , with one or two cigarettes a day . It was my husband who adviced me to smoke first when i had constipation right after delivery , now after one year and a half i started to feel addicted , me i am a free bird and quite independent . it is the one quality that every one recognize in me so clearly . Soo , when i started feeling that the habbit is taking me places i don't want to go at times i don't want to !! like in the middle of work when i have to go out of the office two floors a way from my office , what a waste of time , i really felt like an addict . Also now I smoke 5 cigarettes and at days 7!! so rate is increasing and when i am having a good debate watch out!!
what i am using to quit is the following :
green tea (no sugar) , don't ask me why i just feel it helps a lot with nicotine withdrawal
lighting scented candles
and lolly pops!
today is my first day , i feel quite strong a bout making it through .
please pray for me and send me some inspirational messages ...
Dear Shaila ;
I know what you are going through , i too found smoking and a coffee like a break from work , it was quite pleasurable, but let me tell you sthng
Faith is all it takes
I know for sure that nicotine addiction is not the main thing to fight , it is the psychological habbit that is tough , you have to beilieve you can do it. find good reasons to , challenge yrself infront of someone , find out yr motivation . is feeling like a failure okay with you or does it make you feel humiliated by the fact that a small cigi is more powerful that you are!
play psychological games like i am , tell everyone that you can do it and brag about it , so you wouldnt be able to go back on yr words but also belive in yrself and that u can do it like you did it in many successful things in yr life . even if you haven't which i am sure you did ( every one succeeds when they truely try) , say to yrself this is going to be the time that u will teach yrself how to be strong , find yr motivation dear , you only have to find it !

Well this is my first quit and today is my second day. I don't know if this is normal but i feel quite hyper like i had too many coffees' to drink. I am craving a cigi like hell and i feel quite stressed. I will not smoke but i feel quite miserable, does any one know how long this lasts. morevover today i had a terrible headach is this related ? is quitting smoking only 5 cigi's can cause headach?
thank you all for yr support is is already helping me to write this
Today is my third day , i want to ask all of you quitters when did you stop thinking about smoking , i mean when did you stop obsessing about it . coz all i can think of today is how good it would feel to light up . today i am more stresses and tired than usual i still have a blocked nose and a flue that is not going a way ! and i am drinking herbal tea or eating vegi 's just all the time !
I will not smoke , this promise i made to myself but i didnt think i would miss that silly stuff that much , this is my first time i try to quit and i promise it will be the last .. i need to exercise but can't find energy or time ! i know exercise would help , also keeping busy would , any ideas though?
Sweats yes , oh my god did i sweat !! , it is unbelieveble + i had a terrible headach that lasted for two days , i don't understand the reason behind sweating but it was strange!!

I once read:
Quote:
If you can beat cigarettes, you can beat gaining weight, you can beat anything.
Unquote
I strongly believe in this and i aslo believe that even if you gain weight coz you would want to get over cravings that are pretty bad in the first period it will onlly be temporary coz once cravings end you can diet as long as you havent quite overdid it. again exercise would be great you can reward yrself with spending some on hiring a personal trainer who would make exercise interesting...Text

Guys you are really helping me out !!
I still miss the stuff and it is strange coz i miss it more everyday not the other way around , but i guess the day will come when it wouldnt feel this important!
The day will come when i wake up and I don't think of it till i sleep
The day will come when i feel quite proud and happy having quit at last
the day will come when the thought of smoking doesn't cross my mind or heart..
