Hi Aunt Sissy and Brent and Lori,
Glad youre still smoke-free!! Brent is right the more you dont light up, the easier is becomes to not light up!!
I too still have triggers that I cant avoid, such as work, hanging out with my mother, and going for beers with friendsso at work I chew lots of mint gum, candies, and drink lots of water and coffee (for some reason coffee is not a trigger for me.wierd), Ive been cutting down the amount of time I spend with my mother (she smokes BTW) at least until I feel secure in my quit, and when I go out I have no more than 2 beers.
Anyway, gotta go do some work, but I will check in later.
BREAKERS RULE!!

Bent...uh...Rent...uh...BRENT!! ;p
lol - i used to LOVE the Mr. Men (and Little Miss) when i was a kid, though i have NO idea who Roger Hargreaves is!
Thanks for the chuckle - and your 10% impact is actually more because the little voice in my head used all the correct inflection, tones and pauses!
have a good night (though you're probably in bed by now)

Good morning Breakers (yawn, grumble, grumble),
penquin - good job on your discussion with the nicodemon, and i'm glad you had a "smoking is gross" dream.
Aunt Sissy - i have had smoking dreams on and off since i quit...they bothered me at first (when i was craving every 2 mins), but now i am okay with them.
I love the meter too!! it's so helpful to watch it climb higher and higher. I also love the big, black X's i am putting on my calendar. I also love that i washed my jacket the other night and it smells so CLEAN!!
How's everyone doing with cravings lately? It seems i get the occasional doozy, but thinking back to Hell Week, it's SO much easier to deal with!
Talk to you all soon,
Breakers Rule!!

Mo-Mo,
I've got to agree with Janet - i tried it once, went for the three sessions, and each time i got in the car afterwards and lit up...being on the patch works better for me, but everyone's different.
You're right though, it can't hurt, and it just may work for you.

Hi again,
Quick questions about rewards:
1. Does one reward themselves at 4 weeks or at 1 month?
2. What kind of rewards are you using (if any)?
I'm thinking about booking myself in for a facial for a reward and want to know if i should do it Friday (4 weeks) or Monday (1 month), and if it is too much to spend at this point in my quit, or too little.....
Thanks,
Lucy

Hi Trent,
(what a fun game - i wonder how many things rhyme with "Brent"??)
I knew the name (Hargreaves) was familiar!
You realize, of course, that I am now looking up Mr. Men (and Little Miss) on the internet so that I can re-live my childhood and "remember when...", and that it is all because of this post!
:p

Hmmm.....although I would love to see everyone quit smoking (especially my mother), I do not think it is right to force them to face and conquer their addiction before they are ready to do so. Most of us here at the SSC have at one time or another said that a person has to quit for themselves, and has to want to quit more than they want to smoke.
If I were at a job for 5, 10, 15 years, and then one day they said "either quit smoking or find a new job", I don't know what I would do.
I have to go out now, but this is definately an interesting topic...

Hi Tabby!!
Yay - i love when more December quitters join our group!!! It makes me feel stronger - more people who will be let down if i fail so i work that much harder on getting through 10 minutes after 10 minutes after 10 minutes smoke-free!!
Congrats on 1 month smoke-free, and on going nekkid Tabby - keep us updated. I'm on the patch too, but i'm too much of a chicken to run around nekkid right now (especially since i've put on weight!!) ;)
